Its easy to dismiss this as just another unsuccessful #exitScam (aka pumpAndDump or ponzi) but there was much more to this story and we were vocal about it is 2021.
NFT was a #moneyLaundering operation common in the #art world, and a #distraction. In that sense NFT was a raging success. Even on fedi #influencers used #NFT to distract from and malign the non-political sound money #bitcoin.
In 2020, #twitBuyer tried to distract young people with #MemeCoin. That too seems successful.
#AI#Marketing#Influencers: "If featuring a cheap synthetic spokesperson in an ad produces measurably better results, brands will absolutely do so, until they either become the norm or the novelty wears off. To the extent this is a threat to human influencers, it’s a threat from the low end, replacing secondary sources of income in cases where an unfamiliar synthetic face is a sufficient replacement for an unfamiliar real face — cases where influencers are effectively working as internet-coded models, which, again, is a small but sometimes lucrative and easy part of the job, compared to cultivating an audience in the first place, or comprehensively influencing your fans to buy or do something. It’s also a useful if obvious way to think about how AI might encroach on a wide range of creative industries: identifying their most basic economic functions (converting clicks; scraping up attention; filling space; providing distraction) and attempting to peel them away for automation."

She now understands the interconnection between the platforms she uses: “If I am getting shadowbanned or harassed on a social network [she has been targeted by violent misogynistic cyber harassment campaigns over the years], for instance, it might impair the number of streams I’ll have on a streaming platform.”
“Artists tend to get stuck between the conflicting injunctions to create music and to sell it, which are two different jobs,” Sophian Fanen explains. An established artist can entrust these tasks to professionals. “Emerging artists, on the other hand, find themselves forced to do some marketing, even though they don't necessarily have the skills or the desire to do so.” That’s not specific to the music business, he adds: “Similar trends exist in journalism and other creative work,” where the challenge to get the work noticed arises on top of the challenge to do the work itself."
“#Influencers themselves have a lot of negative associations related to being fake or superficial, which makes people feel less concerned about the concept of that being replaced with #AI or #VirtualInfluencers,” said Rebecca McGrath, associate director for media and technology at Mintel. #DeepFakes#AIGenerated
"The expansion of social media and ubiquity of smartphone cameras has had a major impact on tourists’ behaviour ... Indeed, according to my research, increasingly, some tourists go somewhere to be spotted – to be observed by others both online and in person at these destinations."
YouTube Is Now Hiding Which Channels Get a Cut of Ad Revenue.
YouTube removed a snippet of code that publicly disclosed whether a channel receives ad and subscription payouts, obscuring which creators benefit most from the platform.
