Here's mine, nicknamed "ObriEL" and old enough to be born as #MiniEl.
Unfortunately the #magicsmoke came out when I tried to figure out why it doesn't charge. 😒 (Took it over without documentation on any of the modifications from the legacy of a late friend, @Obri, hence also its nickname. So in case anyone knows CityEL repair shops in Switzerland accepting CityELs of unknown state…)
In working with my #Christmas lights on my #raspberrypi, I may have wired the +5V to the wrong pin on the light strip. Some #magicsmoke may have been released. There was only one witness and he’s not talking. 😜
Oh noes! Something is wrong with my 23 year old #KitchenAid#StandMixer. The last couple of times I’ve used it, I’ve noticed a few drops of oil have leaked from the motor, and I’m pretty sure we’re heading towards a situation where the #MagicSmoke that makes it run could get out.
Does anyone have experience in getting them serviced or repaired, or am I - gulp - going to have to save for a new one? I use it maybe once a month at the moment, but I’d really miss it.
I’m quite excited about this progress. An awesome meld of #iosdev, #arduino, and the 12ft skeleton. Planning to use this to program routines, but maybe also for live interactions!
I just scored an apparently-working Z80 CP/M system (Xerox 820) at an estate sale. The computer lives inside the monitor, plus there's a keyboard & HUGE two 8" disk drives. One of the floppies will boot it to an "A>" CP/M command prompt. What in the world will I do with it? #retroComputing#z80#cpm
