More hiking, more wine, some volcanic activity (did you know that there is an active volcanic region in Germany? Well, there is...), a giant balcony overlooking Cochem castle. Perfect vacation day.
A city tour through #Trier, some unplanned shopping (so many lovely independent places), bubbly and some wine to remember the trip later (I unapologetically love German wines, especially the Rieslings though I'd also not say no to a good Weisser Burgunder 🍷).
And in between we picked up the repaired car two towns over.
Still not feeling at 100% but it was a good vacation day.
Today is all about reading & playing stupid phone games & petting the elderly cat of our landlords (& stopping her from coming inside).
To be frank, I'm all for slow vacation days, but being sick sucks. I want to hike & explore. Instead partner went on his own (better than getting my virus into his system) - and promptly got a badly flat tire and is currently waiting to getting towed. Gonna be interesting given how we move town and apartment Friday morning.
Today: An amazing hike with a lovely audiotour close to #Bollendorf (Naturpark #Südeifel). Very much recommended although we did have to leave the house shortly after 7 to not hike in the midday heat 🥵
A yummy Riesling (feinherb, almost dry but distinctly fruity), a fluffy trap and a lovely view over the Mosel. A perfect way to start a vacation! #MoselVacation2023#Mosel#CatsOfMastodon
