Last night, I was re-elected as Vice-President of the Patsy Sommer Elementary PTA. Working alongside the PTA to coordinate and participate in school events has been an incredibly fulfilling and enriching experience. I can't wait to see what this new year will bring for our school community.
Normally, beyond the simple political nature of being visibly gay and out in normal environments, I don't treat normal activities, like going to a gay bar, as a political statement.
It's just me, a gay man, hanging out with my friends at a bar, right?
I guess I get to add "political statement" to my reasons for going out on Saturday, now. Gotta make sure my attire rides the line exactly.
@zen_at_nite Whether as #LGBTQ or #neurodifferent, it’s amazing how just being our authentic selves can seem like a major political act. It reminds me of the motivation of gay and queer artists, like Tom of Finland, who shared their visions to raise awareness and sound a call to action.
The most important thing is to live by example and SHOW “them” that we are quietly and disturbingly “normal.” 😁

Started in 2011, the project edits #Bible#commentaries and other texts by key authors of #LateAntiquity: Eusebius of Caesarea, Cyril of Alexandria, Hesychius of Jerusalem, Procopius of Gaza, Severian of Gabala and Theodoret of Cyrrhus. Their commentaries and sermons are important in the history of #Christianity because of their powerful influence in the medieval and early modern periods, but they are also an intriguing branch of ancient literary #exegesis, and, as such, are of great interest for literary and historical studies, philology and philosophy.
The editions are published online (and open access) in the Patristic Text Archive (#PTA) and in print in the series "Die griechischen christlichen Schriftsteller (GCS)" (DeGruyter).
