Preparing for voluntary service at our #culturalHeritage centre & #museum. On Sundays, we have a table with women who do #handicrafts and chat. This is targeted #animation so that people become curious, ask questions and watch. And learn more about our centre. Most of the women #embroider, I show #VisibleMending. Other colleagues give guided tours, baked cake, serve in the cafeteria and explain hot #chocolate today. There is a lecture and a special exhibition about chocolate.
Last night, I was re-elected as Vice-President of the Patsy Sommer Elementary PTA. Working alongside the PTA to coordinate and participate in school events has been an incredibly fulfilling and enriching experience. I can't wait to see what this new year will bring for our school community.

I spontaneously found myself on the jury, which had to try all the cakes in order to to give points. A calory heavy work (now you know, why many museums are closed on Mondays - we have to digest.😁 ) Then cakes and torts were slaughtered for the visitors.😋 Women of our association had baken the treasures. #volunteering

Great videos @sober_pirate - I like the fact that the way you film and edit them makes it so easy to follow. From music and the audio overall, or the cuts, you do a great job. People should be more aware of the so many volunteers out there doing good work.
In light of the recent wave of spam, I figured I would throw another one of these out there. If you like the server you're on, and are concerned, there might be a way you can help.
If you're in good standing (haven't had any issues with moderation), are fairly active (check once a day), feel like you know your way around Fedi at this point, and maybe have experience as a #moderator on #Discord, or some other #Forum, consider contacting your server staff and volunteering for moderation duty. All it takes is being able to check reports periodically, and take action on the ones you're confident about: you don't even have to deal with the more complicated ones.
Right now, I think a lot of these servers could use someone who just watches the feed for this bot net, so new bots can get banned quickly.
As usual, also consider donating to your server, and possibly mods if they have a thing for it.

Heading off shortly to meet with the ACT Natural Resource Management Advisory Committee, as the representative of our little landcare group, Friends of Mawson Ponds. Can't wait to show it all off to them (scientists and govt bods), we've come such a long way in almost 3 years when it was just a weed forest. #volunteering
There’s a 70-year-old retiree who has worked for free in more than 30 restaurant kitchens in Atlanta. Just to learn about cooking. There are some Internet #services that provide help to them though (I doubt they completely cure said difficulties but a small help is always better than none!).
