Not sure why (on a Wednesday) people are posting #SoulfulSaturday, but happy to go with some mid-week #jazz.... here's a soulful Sonny Criss playing my favourite track from the first jazz LP I ever bought... (current collection 3500+ LPs) - a #ProfDJ#jazznight classic
If you're in Lancaster, but are not heading up to HighestPoint tonight, then you could do a lot worse than joining #ProfDJ for some jazz-fusion grooves tonight, at Runner Duck Wine Room (King's St. Lancaster).
You can enjoy that sweet spot between soul and funk and jazz alongside some lovingly curated wine, and a great atmosphere.
If you're in Lancaster (UK) tonight you could always join ProfDJ for his Eclectic Jukebox at Runner Duck Wine Room (Kings St.).... for a change, no theme, just a collection of great records, all spun on vinyl - like a human spotify shuffle.
Come along, be surprised by what the next record is, and enjoy some expertly curated wine...
last night I was out DJing (in my guise of #ProfDJ) and after spending the evening spinning #vinylrecords to a crowd pub, I have come to the conclusion that I am now part of a dwindling group that does not have a #tattoo - not sure its that important, but it was pretty obvious last night....
As we head towards #ValentinesDay#ProfDJ is hosting a #lovers night at Runner Duck Wine Room (Kings St. #Lancaster) on Friday.... we're going to get all loved up.
Why not pop down with your loved one, taste some lovingly curated wine, stare into each others' eyes & sing along with some great love songs....

If you're around Kirkby Lonsdale in Cumbria next Sunday (5th May - Bank Holiday weekend), and like soul music, why not join ProfDJ for a Soul Sunday at the Royal Barn (New Road) - from 2.00-6.00 I'll be playing a selection of soul classics, and some lesser known great soul music. Every one, a great groove!
As always they'll be some Motown, some Philly Soul, some Northern Soul & some great southern soul, all played on vinyl for your delight.
If you're a #Motown#soul fan & are looking for somewhere to have a drink in #Lancaster tonight, why not join #ProfDJ at Runner Duck Wine Room (Kings' St.) where it will be Motown back-to-back all evening from 8.30.
The venue is lovely (great sound system!), the wine is specially chosen, there's food (and a non-wine menu), and the staff are fab... what more could you want from an evening out?
Preparing my record boxes for tomorrow's #ProfDJ's #jazz night tomorrow, just popped this on - I'd forgotten that nicked base line (yup, it s from Marvin Gaye)... but such a great groove for Thursday evening - enjoy
If you're planning you #NewYearsEve in advance, and live in the #Lancaster area, this year #ProfDJ is (once again) hosting a NYE party at the Stonewell Tap (Church St.) - great artisan beers on tap & if previous years are a guide (they are!) well be having as ball bringing in 2024.
Tired of the sh*tshow, live in or near #Lancaster?
Why not join #ProfDJ for a wallow in 70's musical nostalgia at the Stonewell Tap (Church St.) on Friday - great music (all on #vinylrecords), fab artisan #beer and an easy walk home... if you live in town
Its #SundayNight & before I sign off, here's a little bit of genius for you.... Heatwave, Ain't No Halfsteppin' - a classic bit of 70's UK stone cold classic soul grooving.... and a #ProfDJ favourite.
If you'd like you #JukeBoxFridayNight to be a little more social than sitting at home sampling the delights of #spotify... why not join #ProfDJ for a night of 70s music at The Stonewell Tap (Church St. #Lancaster).
there'll be nostalgia galore (from glam rock to Marvin Gaye, from Carly Simon to pub rock) all spun on #vinylrecords & you can enjoy the music while experiencing a range of artisan #beer second to none.
Escape the sh*tshow & let me entertain you
(with apologies to Mr Williams)
#ProfDJ is back at Runner Duck Wine Room (King's St. #Lancaster) on Friday night for an evening of music from the 1970s... its always a good one, not least as I can get all nostalgic for my teens.
There'll be TRex, Labelle, Ace, Mott the Hoople, David Bowie & loads of more sounds from a decade that produced so much iconic music that three & half hours hardly seems to be able to it justice.
If you fancy enjoying some great wine while soaking up sine classic music, this is the night for you!
While digging around the LP shelves for tracks for last night #ProfDJ#funk night at Runner Duck #Lancaster, I (re)discovered this on an LP I'd not played for a while.... so, of course, it got spun last night.
So here it is for your Saturday afternoon.... slap it on, relax into a chair & spend 7 mins grooving to Donald Byrd's students showing they understand what a stone cold classic jazz funk groove might sound like.
Tonight #ProfDJ is wallowing in the 1970s at the Stonewell Tap (Church St. #Lancaster)
They'll be a great mix of pop, rock & soul with every track a memory jogger.
So if you want to enjoy an artisan beer, forget the sh*tshow & remember the best all round decade for music ever (a view not necessarily dictated by your age 😀 ), why not come along & take your mind off things!.
I'll be spinning the #vintage#vinyl from around 8.30 'til closing time.
Hey #jazz Mastodon - a week on Friday #ProfDJ's regular slot at Runner Duck Wine Room in #Lancaster is going to be a #MilesDavis night.... 'Miles of Miles' we're calling it.
I'm about to start sorting through my Miles LPs but I'd be interested if there's one track you think definitely should be played on a Miles night.... I have my own ideas, but I'm interested in your opinion so I can get it just right for both the Miles fans & those wonder who this guy is?
