Nice to see Cambridge University Libraries urge the use of open (non-proprietary) file formats:
"...we need to make sure the data files can be found and used by anyone at any time, forever. Ideally, this means using open file formats where possible..."
What role does #NFDI play for different disciplines? Our series continues with Michael Hintermüller, speaker of the consortium @mardi.
ℹ️ #MaRDI wants to develop a robust Mathematical #Research#Data Infrastructure that would be useful within #mathematics and other disciplines as well as non-scientific fields.
NFDI4Chem was also represented by a delegation at this year's RDA Germany conference in Göttingen.
The national exchange and networking with state initiatives on #RDM contributes significantly to the success of an efficient #research#data#infrastructure - and is also fun.
Love Data Week 2024 is coming up next week 💘 and NFDI is also taking part again!
ℹ️ An overview of the different consortia events during the week can be found here: https://www.nfdi.de/?p=34836&lang=en
How to start with FAIR data in #Chemistry?
Take a quick look at our infographics
They say „The first step is always the hardest“, but they also say “Rome wasn’t built in a day”.
Take it step by step.
A lot is happening at #NFDI. Subscribe to our monthly newsletter to stay informed about new services, publications, events and our association's activities.

We cordially invite you to our
Community #Workshop “The 🚀 Future of Research Data Management in ⚗️ #Chemistry”
at 26th Feb 2024
It aims to discuss hot topics in chemistry and determine key aspects of the future work of NFDI4Chem. This will also be a partnering event to prepare proposals.
This workshop explicitly also includes researchers who are not part of the consortium, so please forward!
Of course.
Modern chemistry produces vast amounts of data. And this data has to be processed somehow.
FAIR data, i.e. Findable-Accessible-Interoperable-Reusable, helps us all. Because other researchers can continue to work with FAIR data. Therefore , a lot of preparatory work has to be done, e.g. making terminologies available.
Useful and practical OA textbook and guide on research data management and archival.
It situates in the Canadian context, but I think it's useful for anyone who wishes to archive and preserve data on repositories and using FAIR principles of open data and open science.
We did this for our COVID-19 School Dashboard project code and data archived on @borealisdata
