Could it be that the shift from talking about "Linked Open Data" to talking about "Knowledge Graphs" has been accompanied by a shift from decentralization to centralization also in the scholarly infrastructure space? These questions keep popping up in my head and maybe people with more inside can confirm or dispel my concerns. 1/2
In the old/lod days we tried to contribute open data to a giant global graph using shared protocols & data models. Now we have for example the Open Research Knowledge Graph #ORKG which does not exist all over the web but at https://orkg.org & we have #NFDI building a "central and reusable Knowledge Graph Infrastructure" + a KG registry alongside several different KGs being build in different NFDI projects. (I am not part of these initiatives & might be mistaken. Let me know). 2/2

Für Forschung und Wissenschaft ist das die richtige Entscheidung für ein Medium, über das ein sachlicher Austausch stattfinden kann, frei von kommerziellen und manipulativen Interessen.
