In other Welsh news, despite having only elected a new cabinet three days ago, no Welsh Labour ministers were available to appear on Politics Wales this morning 🤨 😡
Sign it if you can: these #museums and #libraries are losing so much funding and so many staff members under the proposed cuts, it's absolutely unworkable.
"Wales is a name imposed on Cymru and is essentially not a Welsh word at all. The world knows about Wales because of its English connection since 1282. Hardly anyone has heard of Cymru or realises that we have our own unique language and culture which is totally different from the other countries within the United Kingdom."
The #PlaidCymru motion was supported in the #Senedd on Wednesday night after ministers in the Labour-led #Welsh government abstained and offered its backbenchers a free vote.
The motion, which condemned the attacks by Hamas on Israeli civilians, as well as the Israeli government’s “indiscriminate attacks on Gaza,” was carried by 24 votes to 19 with 13 Senedd members abstaining.
Welsh print is imperilled. I am proud to be one of 145 signatories of this #OpenLetter to #WelshGovernment calling for urgent action against the precarious situation of writers in #Wales. Please, join our fight and write to your #Senedd rep. Without independent Welsh print, Welsh voices are falling into a void and our concerns go unnoticed in a media culture centreed around #London.
