After update to 2024.4.2 I cannot use Zigbee - ZHA integration do not load and I cannot use Zigbee devices. I downgraded to 2024.4.1 but I have the same issue - still no connection.
I was skeptical at first, but Zigbee2MQTT is the superior platform. It was actually easier to set up than I expected it to be, so kudos to the programmers.
It was a lot of work just so I can fully support the new microwave presence sensor I just got, but boy is that thing slick! Definitely grabbing a few more of those!
Anyone got any experience with #Zigbee ? Is there anything I should know when deciding between #Zigbee2MQTT and #ZHA ? Are they both fine, or are there compatibility concerns, etc?
I think today is a good day to move from #ZHA to #Zigbee2MQTT. 😅
40 devices are in my #Zigbee network, so this will probably take some time. But I don't have to work today and my wife is in the office so this is probably the only day in the next week this will be possible.
It's just annoying how slow the development and device compatibility of ZHA progresses. It was good for a quick start back then but as my network grows the limitations become more visible.
Ok, I give up. "Error: Failed to connect to the adapter (Error: SRSP - SYS - ping after 6000ms)"
Tried pretty much everything except the pretty useless "USE ANOTHER DONGLE". My Sonoff dongle is compatible and it works like a charm with ZHA.
I sadly have no time to try more as the migration, even if Z2M would work instantly now, would cost so much time and I don't have this anymore because of the troubleshooting.
Sad. I heard many good things about Z2M and really wanted to try it. Now one of my free days has lost some hours with no success and I'm mad, why good things in #HomeAssistant still have to be so complicated.
I just hope #ZHA will get better over time. I don't think I have the option to try #Zigbee2MQTT again for the next months.
Hmpf. Grmpf... 😠
Weder die #Tradfri Shortcut Buttons, noch die Tradfri 5-Button Fernbedienung lösen in #homeassistant (#zha & #sonoff USB Stick) irgendetwas aus. Ich probierte mehrere Blaupausen. Nix. Keine Reaktion. 😞
IKEA's old Trådfri hub and app had been glitching enough for me, I guess our home has too many smart lights or something. So I finally acted on it and installed a Zigbee 3.0 dongle in my Home Assistant raspi, reconfigured all the devices to be directly controlled by hassio instead of the IKEA integration. Hopefully that's the end of glitching. At least it's more compatible with third party devices now. #homeassistant#smarthome#raspberrypi
My primary motivation for the Trådfri -> ZHA move was the hope that by simplifying the Home Assistant setup, I'd get rid of problems. So far, I just replaced some with others.
My secondary motivation was to future-proof the setup for eventually adding some Matter/Threads devices. Looks like I just bought myself more conversion hassle..
Do you have any recommendations on an smart door lock which can be controlled using #Zigbee (with #zha or #zigbee2mqtt) or #homeassistant in general?
It should be able to be fitted inside my current door (euro lock), should have a fallback with a physical key, look halfway decent and should not rely on cloud services.
For me it would be enough if Home Assistant is able to lock it/unlock it and maybe show the state of the battery.
