There are only 15 operational bakeries across Gaza as of January 17, the UN’s humanitarian agency (OCHA) reports in its latest daily humanitarian report.
Six of these bakeries are in Rafah in southern Gaza and nine in Deir el-Balah in central Gaza. There are no functioning bakeries in northern Gaza, contributing to severe food shortages in the area, which has experienced the most intense Israeli bombing since the war began.
Part of the novel I’m writing centers around a little #bakery in a contemporary Texas town of around 20,000 people, and I’m having trouble finding good sources for research. I’d love to read memoirs or blogs by people who have owned or worked in small #bakeries.
The novel I’m currently writing has a main character who works in a small family-run bakery. I’m having the hardest time finding good sources for what the day-to-day routines and realities of that job are actually like. If anyone has links, I would love to read memoirs, articles, blogs, etc.
