Q4. We talked a couple weeks ago about quality tires to prevent flats. Does anyone have a method for preventing the flats that happen when a valve stem tears off the tube?
I'm using extra thick thornproof tubes, and this is my main source of flats.

Hat jemand aus der #Fedibikes Bubble Erfahrungen damit oder Ideen dazu, Kinderfahrräder (20 Zoll) mit dem Fahrrad(-anhänger) zu transportieren? Ich müßte ein bis zwei Fahrräder 12 km one way bringen, damit ich die Kinder an einem Tag in der Woche mit dem Rad von der Schule abholen könnte. Wir haben auch einen Leggero Vento Doppelanhänger und einen Lastenanhänger (Stil Wiltec mit 90L Wanne). In beide Hänger passen die Kinderfahrräder nicht komplett rein. :BoostOK: #Mastobikes#Fahrrad

Heute wäre es fast passiert. Ich fahre am Radweg gerade aus - aus einer Seitenstraße will ein Auto rechts abbiegen und schaut deshalb nur nach links. Ich komme aber von rechts und muss vollbremsen. Fast schmeißts mich vorne runter, so stark bremse ich und komme wenige Zentimeter vom Auto entfernt zum stehen. Nochmal gut gegangen. 🙄
@groberschnitzer Bei Zweirichtungsradwegen entlang einer Straßenseite leider ein Klassiker. (Der andere ist Linksabbieger aus der Haupt- in die Seitenstraße).
Die große Ding-Dong-Glocke gut geölt halten und vorsorglich einen Riesenkrawall machen … hilft manchmal

Look what appeared in my office building! Two new staple racks. This is a LEED certified building with convenient underground parking, but the only racks were wall mounted. Many folks, including me, didn't bother with the wall racks and locked to handrails etc. instead (of course only in ways that didn't impede accessibility!). I don't know if anyone complained about the situation or the building manager was proactive, but it's great to see expanded #BikeParking options!
Was fahren denn Brommifahrende im Winter so, wenn noch keine Bedingungen für den 'Marathon Winter' herrschen, die üblichen Straßenreifen aber ein mulmiges Gefühl bereiten?

Nach einer Stunde auf dem fies glatten Radweg sind meine Fahrskills um 25 Punkte gestiegen. Doppel-Level-Up! Statt "miserabel" nun auf "durchschnittlich".
My #fedibikes friends, please advise me. Two questions:
(1) I have a quite old road bike, c. 1980, solid but outdated and not fancy, w/ drop handlebars and paddle-style gear shifters. I put many happy miles on it as a commuter in the 1990s. Would anyone on this planet still want a bike like this? Or should it just go to the dump?
(2) Serviceable set of old panniers, Rhode Gear, bright blue with a bit of #VisibleMending. Same question — is it worth trying to find them a new home? 1/2
