"Wohnraum statt Hubraum" auf ein dickes Wohnmobil kleben und dieses in einer ohnehin engen Fahrradstraße in einer der teuersten Städte Deutschlands abstellen und damit den Flächendruck nur noch erhöhen...
Manchmal verzweifle ich echt an der egozentrischen selbstgerechten Dummheit unserer MitbürgerInnen.
Estimates are that 475 million non-human animals are killed on the roads of Brazil every year. So what's a scientist to do - figure out how to expand the train network and get cars off the roads?
Nope, these people trained an "AI" image detector to identify animals. It didn't do very well, and doesn't even work in low light or bad weather. And the tasks of installing cameras and - um, doing something to prevent the deaths of the animals - is left to others.
A car that appeals to assholes, and that can also "drive itself" in notoriously dangerous ways, can now accelerate to deadly speeds even easier and much faster than pedestrians can respond and get out of the way.
Looking at modern American cities, and at photos of General Motors' "Futurama" exhibit - where they promoted their utopic view of a future in which everyone was their customer - it's clear that GM succeeded in pushing through with their vision.
Modern American cities look very much like the models they presented there.
They were razed and re-made, not according to the will of their citizens but that of a handful of corporate profiteers.
If Earth Day really meant anything, it would be World Scrap a Car day, doesn't have to be yours (if you don't have one), just any random car... that way we really could start to save the planet...
"But with most American cities designed to promote cars over all other forms of transit, the health of scooter users is, like those of pedestrians and cyclists, at risk once wheels hit pavement. Perhaps it should be no surprise that of the 30 people killed in 2018 while riding an e-scooter, 80 percent were struck by a car."
Every time I drive in the city, I am further radicalized against cars. Had to carry a load that was slightly too challenging for the cargo bike for a job tonight… and now I’m looking at bike trailers (for the cargo bike).
Anyway I’m now taking cargo trailer recommendations and tips & tricks!#BikeTooter#FuckCars
@arstechnica what a fucking dystopia! As if there weren't enough cars on the roads, now we're adding more and more demand for them just to serve some lazy asses their curry, pizza, sushi or whatever.
I am going to take to work one of the few bus routes that goes through my town, even though it only comes every forty minutes and I have been told only "crazy" people ride on it. I guess that means I am a crazy person now. #fuckcars

Cars are a mistake. They move too fast and they are too heavy. Humans can't process enough information or react to the input fast enough at speeds much faster than we can naturally sprint. Horses have their own instincts and will try to avoid injury. Having them pull us worked for thousands of years. Just because you can build something doesn't make it a good idea. Fuck Cars. As to the moral and legal implications, again, Fuck Cars. If there were no 6000 pound motorized living room sets being used by lazy entitled apes on the road, we wouldn't need stop signs or lights. Go inside of a mall where thousands of people move through intersecting hallways and see how smoothly it works. Even if a few people bump into each other, no one gets seriously hurt. Also, I am not required to study or know any laws or get any permission from the state to walk or ride a bike. I don't have to know how to read or even have the ability to see. Why should I be required to stop for signs or signals that are intended for drivers? The sign is there to stop drivers who are exercising a privilege which the state has the ability to limit and restrict. I have a right to travel under my own power without permission or restriction, unlike a driver. #FuckCars
Walked around my garden and it was quiet, so grabbed a cuppa to come sit on my porch and since asshole with a noise maker muffler is idling a block over.
