Did some repotting yesterday. Some of our plants had outgrown their pots. The big one in the photo has been with us for probably 4.5 years and has grown so much. It feels good to have taken care of something for so long.
If you don't use a screenreader to access the internet, you may be unaware that case matters in hashtags. Sadly, Mastodon tends to lower case them even when you're trying to camel case them.
If you lower case a multiword hashtag, the screenreader reads it like it's one word - making gibberish out of it. If you camel case it (capitalize the start of each word even though you're not spacing between words), the screenreader can differentiate the words.
@meganL I'd say that something that is detrimental to a11y is definitely a bug. I'm not sure that's what mastodon is doing though. I think it's basing it on existing uses of the tag. e.g. #KidicalMass suggests that case, presumably because existing uses have it in that case. For #GoodDay I'm guessing it's because all or most of the existing uses are all lowercase. So the bug to fix is to prefer mixed case over lowercase.
Throwback to childhood days spent with Zak McKracken!
I vividly remember those moments stepping out of Zak's house, him turning back, and casually remarking, "Looks good." It's funny how some game moments stick with you.
Now, on days like today, when the evening wraps up a genuinely good day, I find myself metaphorically looking back at the day's events. And just like Zak, I think to myself: "Looks good." It's a simple phrase, yet it perfectly captures the satisfaction and contentment of a day well spent.
Went to the coast yesterday for my son’s birthday. It was perfectly cloudy and cool. The Oregon coast is stunningly beautiful, and I got to hang with my family. That was a good day.
Sometimes it does not take much to make it into a #GoodDay. Via Craig’s list I connected with a construction project that hauled in around 115 yards of free sandy well-drained dirt from their project. I am using our tractor to spread it on a #pasture rehab project I started late last summer. #Farming
Lotsa work left to do to pick the rocks and make it smooth.
My Father’s Day was really great. My eldest kids came over and we all played board games for hours. Then we ate super yummy vegan food that my wife made with love. Finally we finished with some Crawl on the PlayStation before watching my favorite Miyazaki movie, Princess Mononoke.
Interestingly, my son shows up wearing the same t-shirt that I was wearing (for the Crawl game). 🤷🏻♂️
