@mullvadnet has anyone reported to you that updating to MullvadVPN-2023.4_amd64.deb leads to a missing #SystrayIcon?
I downgraded to MullvadVPN-2023.3_amd64.deb and now the #Systray icon is back.
There was nothing wrong with the program, it worked as normal but each time I needed to see the #interface I would need to open the program from a menu again.
AI: First New UI Paradigm in 60 Years: https://www.nngroup.com/articles/ai-paradigm/
How UI introduced a new paradigm based on intent outcome specification, where you tell a machine what you want instead of how to do it. This comes with foreseeable limits, improvements will need to happen to make this more user-friendly #AI#Interface
Making this project back in 2019 was a blast, with a great career payoff too - it ended up giving a boost in the industry and opened the door to working with Frontier.
Do you wish there was a multi-column TweetDeck-style interface?
There is! It's called the "advanced web interface" and you can activate it any time you want. It lets you add many specialised columns, subscribe to hashtags and all kinds of stuff suited to large wide displays.
Log into the website, go to Preferences > Enable Advanced Web Interface, tick the box and click "Save Changes".
(To restore the default single column interface, do the same thing but untick the box instead.)
This used to be the default interface on Mastodon, and very old articles about the platform will have screenshots of the multicolumn interface.
@feditips How do you get these extra columns? I only have four columns, and anything new I open goes in the fourth column replacing what was there. #feditips#interface
The desktop version of Mastodon has two different interfaces: a single column Twitter-style one, and a multicolumn Tweetdeck-style one.
✅ To switch between Mastodon's desktop interfaces, go to Preferences > Appearance > Enable Advanced Web Interface. Selecting it activates multicolumn, unselecting it activates single column.
Multicolumn lets you add lots of additional columns, which may be handy for desktops on very wide monitors.
