This ought to make @jon happy: Finnish Railways VR will now plan and sell travel chains including connecting buses. Some years past I was working on this myself as a third party opetator, and the tech we built is powering the bus networks' side of the system even today. Yes, you can also buy train tickets from the bus networks. That came first.

Public transport journey planning has a public purpose - get people efficiently to their destination.

This planning function might not have financial compensation - there might be no ticket sale involved.

The likes of Trainline then have very little incentive as I see it to provide excellent journey planning. But if they can’t, and the likes of DB won’t, internationally… then who can?

And a -wide one, of course, on the large scale.

And, on the small scale, it should be integrating tools, that include not only and , but also self-service rentals and their car equivalent (not to be confused with services, which can also be included btw)

I'm sure you are familiar with this situation: you're shopping on a Saturday, and your shopping list is written on the back of an old paper copy of a once read article. My list today is on the back of Clyve Jones‘ „The Protestant Wind of 1688“. Fun fact: this copy was made around 2005 in Berlin, and moved with me through my career from Berlin to Erfurt to Nuremberg to Augsburg. I am living my best life, dear @histodons

Parliamo del di . Progetto, sembra, finanziato dal del Comune Roma Capitale. Qualcuno è stato selezionato per la sperimentazione. Per ora si può scegliere una sola app (tra un insieme di altre non note e non disponibili che il comune ti propone). L’app che si può scegliere ora è quella ex Cicero. Per ora funziona poco.

Riflessione generale: le PA NON devono concentrarsi sulle app. Le PA devono curare maniacalmente i dati che hanno a disposizione, renderli e quindi anche accessibili tramite . Poi, per tutto il resto, ci pensa il mercato e la cittadinanza che sceglie in base alle sue preferenze (e non tra elenco predefinito). A ci sono diverse app già in uso da parte dei cittadini (non quelle definite nel ). Sono i dati a fare schifo in molti casi...
