Luxomancer, 9 months ago to macrophotography It’s almost time for another #Invertefest (August 28-September 3)and in anticipatory celebration I present one of my favorite inverts, the Four-spotted #Mantidfly, #Dicromantispa interrupta. Images marked sensitive due to insect content. #Macrophotography #Insects #neuroptera #Naturepotography [#Invertebrate A photo of the mantidfly’s side, showing the mantis like raptorial arms tucked under its head, the long neck leading to the thorax from which the long narrow legs emerge, and the thick almost potato like abdomen which are covered by 2 lacy wings. A photo of the top of the mantid fly, showing it’s slender body, with the exception of the thick downwards curving abdomen which is covered by the two large lacy wings.
