Very exhausting but so are most important #justice fights against #government.
I just hope it will help more #POC & #disabled families in future from suffering unnecessary #traumas from #cops & coward #paramedics scared of telling cops to leave a #medical#crisis call when no cops are needed & only making things worse by letting #abusive cops stay around.
In light of the sentencing news tonight in the Elijah McClain case, I will again remind anyone in #emergencymedicalservices and #emergencymedicine, including #paramedics , that the problem in this case was not bad medicine. The problem was no medicine was practiced. There was no attempt to gain consent or establish emergency consent, and no assessment before, during, or after administration of a sedative.
If we all make sure to advocate for our patients, we won’t be in this situation.

#Teachers were to be 'helped' by #teachingassistants, but they increasingly took on more & more jobs fully qualified teachers might have been expected to do normally;
Now we find that in the #Ambulance service, around one third of responses are by first responders, not #paramedics... again something intended to ease pressure has become part fo the normal service.
First responders are being put in a difficult situation by the shortage of paramedics!
#Friendlyreminder : No matter what you are planning to do: First ask yourself of it is really a good idea to do it exactly that way. Second: Ask yourself how you‘re going to explain it to #Police, #paramedics or #firemen (or even worse: You #mum 😜 ) of it goes wrong.
My mode of transportation is #walking and living in an urban area, I’m seeing many individuals in distress. I applaud all #paramedics doing a thankless, difficult and often dangerous job helping them.
Now can we get our sh*t together and force the #Ontario govt to stop cutting and restart investing in social services and health?
People working on the ground know where it should go.
