“Once again, François Legault sticks his neck where it doesn’t belong, interfering in the affairs of a university he’s defunding, in a city he otherwise doesn’t care about.”
I always appreciate how the Bloc Québecois show up as adults during debate. They again state they will support the #NDP motion which does not deny Hamas’ attack but more accurately is bringing attention to the suffering of civilians #Canada#cdnpoli#BQ#qcpol
The Bloc Québecois again reminds the Conservatives that as Canadians we are to respect the findings of the #ICJ.
He says the Conservatives assertion that #UNRWA is a terrorist organization is ridiculous.
He now fires a cross across the bow and implies Conservative-supporting Proud Boys have infiltrated CAF and to call it a terrorist organization would be ridiculous.
Mp Bergeron, Bloc Québecois, clearly states that Hamas is not responsible for Israel’s decision not to agree to a permanent #ceasefire and releasing hostages anyways.
In other words he says “give yourselves up or you will be massacred “
He is now reading the motion into the record again and going through step by step why voting for this motion is in line with Canada’s foreign policy.
He says the Bloc has always recognized that Israel is an occupying force and calls uppn the government as they have for years for greater sanctions against Israel #ceasefire#Canada#cdnpoli#BQ#qcpol
In October 2023, after months of meetings with Higher Education Minister Pascale Déry, the English universities thought tuition reform would not hurt them. They were very wrong.
McGill and Concordia universities said they were shocked in October when Higher Education Minister
Pascale Déry announced major tuition changes directly targeting the English institutions’ finances, enrolment and reputations.
CAQ vs. English universities: François Legault’s specialty is cutting Quebec off at the knees
by Taylor C. Noakes
“François Legault’s decision to double the cost of university tuition for out-of-province students is shortsighted, mean-spirited and, from an economic vantage point, completely idiotic.”
Montreal’s mayor says she’s concerned about the economic impact of a plan announced last week to nearly double the tuition for students from other provinces enrolled in Quebec’s English universities.
Demonstrations took place across Quebec on Saturday to protest against Bill 31, which among other things, proposes removing the right of tenants to transfer their lease.
We present here a form for Montrealers pledging to go on #RentStrike either in Fall 2023 or when we reach the requisite amount of pledges. The rent strike is against #Bill31 (#ProjetDuLoi31 or #PDL31) proposed by the #CAQ, for housing the unhoused, and against the rent increases that #Quebec landlords have been demanding of tenants.
If 5,001 people fill out this pledge (that's five thousand plus one), a rent strike will be called. If 5,001 people do not fill out this pledge, then anyone who has filled it out does not need to go on rent strike. The rent strike committee will contact you for strike meetings and to let you know if 5,001 pledges to strike have been received.
