I sometimes regret that in the States LGBTQ+ issues are often analyzed through American puritanical culture as if it was valid for every western society effectively denying cultural differences.
A good example is bisexuality.
The poster below is from a 2001 French movie. It's about a guy trying to organize his life between his wife, his female lover and his male lover.
As far as I remember there was no controversy whatsoever about it. 22 years ago this guy's situation was seen as perfectly acceptable.
Seriously, Americans need to get out in the world more.
I'm a straight trans woman, and my timeline is largely sapphic! It's time to even the balance a bit!
So if you've got any queer/trans content that my straight but queer ass might enjoy, please spam me with it! Memes, people/hashtags to follow, stories, I don't care what it is, I'll take it all :)
😡 sex-negative: Hostility towards #sexuality in general. A form of #bigotry.
🤢 sex-#repulsed: If you find sex to be repulsive personally and it stresses you. Not bigotry.
😨 sex-#averse: Like sex-repulsed but weaker. You can deal with the concept of sex mostly, but the thought of being involved in sex yourself creeps you out.
:asexual_flag: #asexual: If you feel little/no sexual attraction.
My research explores the eroticization of Tudor queens in a range of popular genres, from #earlymodern letters and plays, to tv and #fanfiction today. I also consider the affordances and limitations of color-conscious #casting in #perioddrama.
