Today in Labor History April 24, 1913: A IWW strike broke out at Pilchuck, WA. The men demanded the right to organize. They also demanded sanitary bunkhouses, pure and wholesome food and a fire escape to be put on the three-story bunk house at the mill. And One hundred seventy-five IWW members struck against the two electric companies of Stockton, CA. They demanded a raise of fifty cents. The strike was led by the IWW.
public transport strikes in Germany are just a sparkling hostage situation.
many people here have subscription tickets so they've already paid for the transport. There's not much loss of fare revenue. Operator saves fuel, energy and wage costs on strike days.
It's literally just taking those people hostage who need public transport.
but we can't actually do anything about the drivers' salaries. we're already paying ridiculous fares, it's not our fault if that money doesn't arrive at the drivers. go dump some manure in front of the boss's house or something like that instead of striking.
(also public transport should, in my opinion, be fully paid from taxes, with no fares charged)
If you're work/life is disrupted, direct your frustration at the #employers or the #Tories;
If you're at home (on strike), enjoy the down-time;
If you're in Government... might be the time to actually listen to #voters... of course, you'll find some Weasily words to get round this, but lets be clear:

Das autoritär-neoliberale #Macron -Regime in #Frankreich hat trotz überwältigender Ablehnung und massiven Protesten in der Bevölkerung die #Rentenreform und damit Rentenkürzungen durchgedrückt.
Die Machthaber*innen rechneten im Vorfeld damit, eine Abstimmung in der Nationalversammlung zu verlieren,. Deshalb verwenden sie nun mit Billigung des Ministerrats den "Artikel 49.3", mit dem eine Abstimmung einfach übergangen wird und das Gesetz automatisch als angenommen gilt.
Nun könnte nur noch das Parlament mehrheitlich einen Misstrauensantrag gegen die Regierung stellen.
Vor allem aber die unzähligen Menschen auf den Straßen haben sicherlich auch noch nicht das letzte Wort gesprochen...
