#sxmo#linuxmobile news:
i fixed the wifi-sec hotspot creation bug, added a 'GSM Disable' entry and a 'Wifi Credentials' to show pw in text and qr-code of the connected wifi or hotspot.
and:
i decided to stop messing with sourcehut, #git send-email and upstream, for fuck sake, its so demotivating! to which email address? why did it not only send the last commit? where is it gone?
i prefer to use my time for features/fixes and to document them, not to messup pipelines of others....
Finally a #convergence solution to my likings and needs. A pocketable machine that runs the OS I want ( #iusearchbtw ), looks how I want ( #sway#waybar#sxmo ), and does what I need (Citrix for work, Spotify on the web, and phone things).
so cool to have offline speech recognition on #linuxmobile thanks to ideasman42 github repo.
next step is to create #sxmo gestures or even better a microphone key on the virtual keyboard to enable/disable spokenlanguage input. #postmarketos
After spending 2 days searching on how to show the mousepointer and switch to trackpad mode in #sway, the final solution to use #krita on #linuxmobile is way more simple and pragmatic:
Just create a workspace which fits the mobile needs.
The file open/save dialog is a bit sketchy, but so far the best image editing experience on my #op6. Including cropping and colorgrading.
As usual, get the setting from my codeberg repo:
codeberg.org/magdesign/sxmo-userscripts/
while searching on how to turn on the mousepointer visibility on #sxmo (btw. still not found),
i realize that instead of writing a hundred user-scripts... we have #conky to display all the needed facts on homescreen 😍
sometimes text selection just sucks on #linuxmobile or you have an idiotic wifi password on a picture and as a legastenic adhs kid you never type it right..
Thanks to everybody who visited the Linux on Mobile stand! At the postmarketOS part we had so many great conversations and a fun time showing all the UIs + devices running mainline linux! A small cheatsheet revealing itself below the Sxmo phone certainly helped, and a lot of people were excited to try it out.
Shout out to our friends from the projects next to us, as always it has been amazing to collaborate with everyone! 🥳
Let's rephrase that. I want a phone that belongs to me, and not to Google or Apple. So I'm daily driving the #PinephonePro with #MobileLinux (to be exact: #PostmarketOS with #SXMO).
(And thank you to all the great people behind @postmarketOS for their great work so far! Keep it up! And not just so my #potato becomes less taxing to use 😉 )
@dylanvanassche has done an incredible amount of reverse engineering work to enable sensor support for SDM845 devices in #postmarketOS! 🎉 🎉 🎉
The accelerometer (auto screen rotation), ambient light sensor (auto-brightness), and compass now work properly on phones like the #OnePlus6 and #SHIFT6mq! Amazing work!!!
@craftyguy@dylanvanassche great work, Thanks ! As it is now into pmos I could make the proximity lock work in #sxmo on my #op6 with little effort ! (auto-rotation should be easy to implement too)
