Well, a positive for the morning. Arm not much better today. Was trying to decide whether to go to the local Emerg at WCGH, the (useless) local clinic, or the Urgent care centre 30min away. The first and last option have imaging... so I decided on seeing how busy Emerg was. Turns out, not at all. Only waited a couple minutes and I'm already done the Xray. We'll see how long I wait for an assessment.

Two hours later and the ER is a lot busier. Haven't seen anyone yet for assessment. Hopefully soon, but there are plenty here that are in worse shape than me.

Got called to see the Dr. at 2:30. XRay was ok. He checked my arm movement and agreed it was a nerve and/or fluid sack in the top of the shoulder. Advil and Tylenol for a couple weeks with heat will hopefully help. Might need physio if it doesn't resolve in a couple weeks or more if it is persistent. Hoping for the best, basically. Ill make an appointment with my family doc which will be in at least three weeks anyway.

@wikimediaDE Tolle Aktion!

Earlier today I dug through some records of mine to see if my intersex condition was visible on my ultrasound. It IS. I don't know what the situation on posting the image is, so I won't post it unless it IS safe. Oh, and the doctors never caught it, so...

Today: Gravis UltraSound emulation improvements

Several changes have been made to the GUS emulation resulting in (sometimes) audible differences, as follows:

  • Large DMA transfers of up to 8 KB/each.
  • Uses PCM samples as-is without bit-shifting them upward or downward in volume.
  • Handle samples' fractional "inter-wave" portion using floating-point math.
  • Volume dampening using floating point values ranging from 1.0 down to 0.0.
  • Performs -3 dB constant power panning per the Gravis SDK.
  • Accumulates the set of active voices using floating-point math.
  • Soft-limits (instead of clips) the left and right channels independently when accumulations exceed the 16-bit sample range.
  • Three runtime states: halt, initialize, and play (previously called "Reset"). The mixer's audio channel is only activated during the play state.
  • Output stream at a rate defined by the number of active voices, which is adjusted on the fly.
  • 16-bit signed stereo stream (not 32-bit) fed into dosbox's mixer.
  • Audio information during playback and after shutdown.

We recommend GUS emulation for games that natively support it:
