@apt @craiggrannell this tvOS behavior has been there all along. But now with the storage space available on Apple TVs this seems overkill? Apple always wanted games on the Apple TV but they made lots of choices that were non viable. This feature to start but at the beginning of tvOS games HAD to support the tv remote as an input, optionally only mfi controllers worked and apps initial size had to be maximum 200mb if I remember correctly. Might as well hook up a Batocera box to the tv 😛.

@craiggrannell @apt back in the day. When we couldn’t do something on the Mac. The answer was you have to use Windows. Now it’s more like, you’ve got to use Linux 😛.

If Apple's afraid of eating into Mac sales by putting macOS on iPad, just put the Hypervisor and Virtualization frameworks on iPadOS so third parties like Parallels can virtualize Windows 11 or Linux instead. Windows, at least, is much better suited for a touchscreen than macOS is. Let the developer/userbase validate the concept if you won’t — is a virtual desktop good or bad for the iPad platform?

@stroughtonsmith the real problem is Apple wants all the devices they sell except the Mac (and that’s only because they realistically can’t change that) to only have the App Store as a way to get apps. That’s the reason why they don’t want us to be able to use MacOS or any other OS on the iPad.

The lights were technically visible from here, but only barely. The camera captured a lot more color than was coming through to the naked eye, but it was something!

In Canada, for a fully spec'd iPad Pro (13" | 2TB | Nano-texture | Cellular) & all accessories (Pencil Pro + Keyboard + AC), it would be cheaper to fly from Montreal to Alberta b/c of the lower taxation.

As someone who recently sold off their iPad Pro and got the cheapest iPad Air money could buy, I’m not even sure what Apple could do to tempt me to upgrade today.

ProMotion in the new Air might do it (I really, really don’t like 60Hz on iPadOS) and I think only a more capable Pro could get me to find the big bucks to get back to the Pro lifestyle.

New Pencil, keyboard, and camera location would be nice, but not sure they’d move the needle for me personally.

Updates on Delta for iPad:

• Yes, it’s coming!
• We’ve been working on it for a while and it’s near completion, just need to finish up controller skins + fix some last bugs
• We didn’t prioritize iPad because plan was to launch in just EU with AltStore PAL (which doesn’t support iPad)
• Obviously plans changed when Apple changed their rules, so we’re prioritizing iPad now and it will come with the next major Delta update (1.6)
• It’s available now for Patrons through regular AltStore 🙂

@rileytestut If there’s ever a way to have device to device multiplayer for the portable consoles (gb, gba and nds). I can already imagine news headlines talking about the resurgence of classic Pokémon games 😉.

The big rewrite is making good progress! But it's not ready yet.

Still have some missing features and placeholder UIs. But there are fewer of them with every passing week…

The Altstore version (not the PAL one) supports genesis games and is adapted to the iPad screen. The App Store version doesn’t seem to. Unless I’m making a mistake.

So if full federation and interoperability between here and Threads does happen – and let’s say some kind of Bluesky bridge as well – what will people with multiple accounts do? Shutter all but one and cross post? Keep multiple accounts for different things? It’s an odd one because I do post differently here than on Threads. Bluesky is a bit of an outlier. And it also has fewer chars to play with, which is annoying.

@craiggrannell you could ”merge” your accounts by moving them all to the one you want to keep. If the move option works across those services. Or you can keep them separate if they really serve different purposes for you.

@rileytestut Yeah with the current rules. Free apps are impossible. I’m disappointed because Apple doesn’t respect the spirit of the law in my opinion.

I’m a 100% Apple guy but I just bought a Odin 2. My first ever Android device. And being able to install whatever I want from the Play Store, a website or GitHub, just like on my Mac, is just freeing.

I love Delta by the way 😉
