Some positivity neon #rhododendrons we saw while out on our walk tonight, I had to reduce the vibrancy significantly to make the photo at least a little easier on the eyes
I was planning on posting this today anyways, but now I find out it's #WorldBeeDay? I'm hoping that's a good sign 😅
I've been teaching myself how to use #Krita & dipping my toe into the world of #DigitalPainting.
Don't worry, I don't plan on ever stopping my usual pen & ink art, but there are some things I want to create that I need to stretch into other mediums for.
Anyways, I did a “learn krita while painting Bob Ross” tutorial which was super helpful, ...
then did another Bob Ross on my own, and now this:
this is only my second non-Bob painting, and I'm fairly pleased with how it came out!
I know I have A LOT of improvement still, the world of color is rather a bit of a conundrum for me as I'm so used to working in black and white. I know I have a few artist mutuals here, so please feel free to critique, also if you have any favorite tutorials, or books to learn from, that would be awesome too!
A while ago, while out on a walk around the neighborhood we spotted these two Merlins flying around their tree and calling to each other. We had been hearing them regularly for several weeks but up until then had not been able to pinpoint where they were.
I wasn’t really pleased with how the photos turned out, but @wplalonde has been pestering me to post ever since, so here you are 😜

There seems to be an unusually large population of Gnomes in my new neighbourhood, I’m constantly noticing them when out on walks, so I decided I would start documenting all the Gnomes I found while out and about.
When I got home and went to look at my photos I noticed that I had also captured some rather dubious Pwcas also taking note of the prodigious Gnomish population.
I figure I will spread out my photos to one a week for now, I hope you enjoy!
@Alien_Sunset@BreakingImpossible What you have to watch out for is if they start to move - even a little bit between visits. If they are, keep an eye out, they're tricky little creatures. 🤣
this is by no means an original idea, but it's something I've wanted to play around with for a while. (people who did this before me, and way better include @eclectech )
I think i may want to make my little pwca a bit blurrier or indistinct, and maybe work on making things look a bit more 3d in digital art (this is also my first drawing done totally digitally)
either way i'm really please with the outcome so far!
ok masto hivemind, I have a computer mouse question:
I have a new mouse that uses the default drivers, but I hold it "weird": what the mouse thinks is is "up/down" is actually diagonal for me, and twisting my hand/arm to make it actually be "up/down" is uncomfortable/ubergonomic.
I need to somehow change what the mouse thinks is "up/down" (and the other directions as well, obv) but I don't know how with the current windows settings available to me.
