I remember when we moved into this house in 1994. Purple Rhodie was one of our first plantings. We planted him late, and every year, on schedule, he blooms about two weeks behind everyone else’s rhodies, and I love it! #bloomscrolling#rhododendrons

I love how the different #rhododendrons around our house take turns blooming in a weeks-long parade of eye-candy colors & beauty. As our pale pink ones out back drop their petals, it’s time for the deeper pinks & creamy yellows out front to take the stage… and host the pollinators. Happy #garden serendipity: prostrate tatarāmoa, the creeping form of one of our native blackberries, grows happily under #rhododendrons, all the way to the trunk. Glad something does
