Have you considered that all you’re going to tell them with these podcasts is how you’ve presided over rent, food, education, and their very existence becoming so expensive they can’t live while also watching the world burn with endless war and climate change? Like what’s the pitch for more of the same? Fuck off Liberals.

Auxonic,

We hear you like democracy which is why we promised badly needed electoral reform which is why we promised it and then refused to do it because people wanted a different version than we did

Auxonic,
@Auxonic@mastodon.social avatar

We hear you like your grandparents which is why we rentooled the entire economy to transfer all wealth towards them while also dismantling social programs so private corporations can take all their money leaving no inheritance for you

Auxonic,
@Auxonic@mastodon.social avatar

We hear you like TikTok which is why we’re taking about banning it because the Americans want you on Nazi filled twitter instead.

Auxonic,
@Auxonic@mastodon.social avatar

We hear you want a place to live which is why the infrastructure bank and CMHC are subsidizing builders to oroduce exurban mansions and, in generally, homes at the lowest level seen in decades rather than just building it ourselves.

Auxonic,
@Auxonic@mastodon.social avatar

We hear you like eating which is why we’ve asked the vertically integrated grocery oligarchs to sign a voluntary code of conduct where they only gouge you at or around a little more than the rate of inflation (after two years of double or even tripple digit increases)

Auxonic,
@Auxonic@mastodon.social avatar

We hear you like weather that isn’t going to kill you which is why we. Uhh.. plan to subsidize oil companies to pretend to build carbon capture systems and to also subsidize home owners (which you aren’t) to get new windows and uhhh… continue strip mining the country and not reducing our carbon emissions…

This makes me so fucking mad because my local small grocery store, the only place nearby to get fruit and vegetables, closed in December over a liquor license dispute - their square footage wasn't large enough to be considered a grocery store!!!! - and now the government is rolling out liquor sales to corner stores. Come the fuck on. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/alcohol-sales-convenience-stores-ontario-1.7213546

Dropping a random prediction: Trudeau will resign as Liberal leader this summer. Do I have any specific reasons for this? No. I’m a politically connected nobody. But he can stay on and lose to Pierre, even though he wants a no-gloves campaign against him, but why be another Harper, who knew he had no chance in 2015? I think walking away would be a clutch move for him and take all the wind out of “vote for us because Trudeau is the reason for X, Y, Z”

Auxonic,
@Auxonic@mastodon.social avatar

@human3500 @grivettcarnac from what I hear everyone sane is getting out and political staffers are reduced to ideologue teenagers who don’t care if they lose. Party seems intent on running into the ground and hoping for a quick rebound from PP.. I don’t think they understand what four years of fascist majority will do to even Liberals

Is this a cute write up of the difficulties in inter generational communication or a tone deaf essay by a boomer who’s generation has caused multiple existential problems and torn up every social program they could? I guess we’ll just have to all get along, eh? https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/first-person-generation-gap-boomers-millennials-1.7211033

And the spoiled kids will all get to fight it out in the climate wars.

Auxonic,
@Auxonic@mastodon.social avatar

@stephanie my parents are pretty progressive as this stuff goes but the older they get the more I see how far behind they are.. and how far the next generation are going to be from me.. hopefully I will have the wisdom to keep my unhelpful mouth tf shut when I’m 70

Who’s responsible? The mayor of neoliberalism, Jim Fucking Watson, and the corrupt conglomerate led by SNC Lavalin.

So we have via rail tickets booked for August and naturally I loaded the tickets in Apple Wallet… then a few days later I got an email saying the schedule was going to change and now I’ve gotten 2 new sets of tickets and I’m sick of adding and deleting tickets 🥸 I should be able to just use the same set of tickets regardless of what schedule changes but I’m annoyed at this process. If the time changes by 5 minutes and I need a whole new set of tickets? Gesus…

Auxonic,

@grivettcarnac your QR code is the same if that helps.. but your seats, car, or worst case even train might change.

They’re everywhere.

I don’t like it.

@shawnhooper @casseagull my limited cameras are from unifi. All local storage which gives me peace of mind that I’m the only one looking. Lots of critters but there’s a shocking amount of traffic in my dead end laneway

I like how governments seem to be on the hook for all anti theft measures because automakers have completely failed consumers and, it seems, convinced everyone that it’s not their responsibility

Like these ghouls extract billions in subsidies, spy on their customers to the extent, apparently, of reporting on how much sex you’re having along with location and driving habits… but not the basics like remotely secure radio systems or even serial numbers.

I grew seedlings this year in a makeshift grow station in our basement, which is just one of those heavy duty plastic utility shelves and LED grow lights and I am so pleased with how (some of, at least) my plants turned out.

I started the seeds in takeout containers with lids to keep the moisture in, then opened them once they sprouted. I then graduated the larger seedlings to paper pots I made so they could grow even larger and now I am working on hardening them off over the next two weeks.

Trays of small seedlings growing in folded paper pots under a the glow of a grow light.
Sizeable seedlings on an outdoor deck - visible are tomato, cucumber and zucchini plants.

Auxonic,

@casseagull same. Got the last of the plants into the cage. Just need to finish that floor.
