To any or shooters: What does your workflow look like?

I stopped shooting film 8 years ago, mostly due to workflow problems. Finding the time to do high-res scans and deal with the physical film just took away all the joy. I spent more time on admin than shooting!

Are you digitally archiving your film? Do you select the low-res scans from the film developer? Develop your own film? Do you keep the film once digitized? Do you archive it?

All input welcome!

Bittersuesz,
@Bittersuesz@norden.social avatar

@Topslakr Much work, no flow ... :D Well, I paid a lot of money for the developing already and have stopped scanning at home a while ago in favour of having this done together with the developing. I download the scans and archive them, I get the rest via mail and kind of archive it too - I will have to think about better ways to do it for the increasing amount!

If you've been blocking AI from scraping your website, there's another one to add. This time it's Google.

I've updated my post on the subject.

That crow I recently had a little photo session with ๐Ÿ–ค

(Also my first finished medium format photos)

Same crow, with a little splash of water on the ground, shot is at a dutch angle, slightly slanted to the left

At the start of the year, I was a total n00b who was just getting back into film photography. I resolved to learn as much as I can.

In August 2023, Iโ€™ve shot around 6000 frames of 35mm and 120 film; of which Iโ€™ve developed maybe half of those myself.

I roll my own film, and know how to develop black and white, C-41, and ECN-2. Iโ€™ve learned to print in a darkroom, and use every type of scanner.

Iโ€™m happy with what Iโ€™ve learned.

Back home, unpacked. So, here's the thing that might get me back to analog photography: A Rolleiflex S66 medium format SLR released in 1966 that @jillpls had sitting in a closet since forever. This one was probably manufactured in the 70s, judging by the serial number.

It has some technical issues though: the mechanism seems stuck in the "released" position with the mirror flipped up and the film transport crank locked. I'll try to get it fixed and hopefully this beauty can have a second chance.

If anyone knows an address in Berlin where I can get it looked at by someone who knows this camera's mechanism well, that'd be much appreciated. I'd rather not try to fix this myself. Would be a shame to ruin this device by accident.

The new album โ€œElectric Sunโ€ by VNV Nation is exactly what I want my synth/future pop to be like: right on the edge between sincerity about the present and an almost naive optimism about humanityโ€™s future. https://songwhip.com/vnv-nation/electric-sun
