This is Eunice, the largest eucalyptus in my CD neighborhood niche, two blocks from my house. It only took me a little over 23 years of walking around to figure this out. We don't have a lot of beautiful eucalyptus trees in this town, so they're something special.

The view south from Cannon Beach in this afternoon. The winter is the best. It's always changing and intense, yet the sun doesn't burn my eyeballs to a crisp like most of the rest of the year. Also, there are fewer people and obnoxious dogs on this section of the beach than a mile or so further north near the famous haystack.

I don't know what happened to all the good people who tore off all the little slips and called the number. I hope they aren't in trouble. I can't tell what this is really about. I showed it to our and they didn't have any idea, either.

Wouldn't it be helpful to hear a different voice on , not the usual, narrowly focused hype/doom messages? Emergence Magazine has a lengthy interview with author and artist James Bridle, which you can listen to or read in transcript. He talks about AI and as part of the "natural" world and not necessarily confined by human preferences and abilities. He offers an encouraging, nuanced, practical view that I haven't seen elsewhere.

Discovered on Phinney Avenue in , the to so many that you probably didn't know you had. You can ask any of the couple of dozen wooden figures climbing, hanging, prancing about on this , and if they don't know, they won't be offended if you move on to somebody else or even to another tree.

One of the scariest and most unpleasant displays ever - ugly, demonic, degrading, and simply awful. Thus, a masterwork in its league. Seen at Saeteun's Garage on Jackson Street in today.
