@davidho all these weasel words and disingenuous plots. We know a safe, clean and cheap source of energy, that is also zero emissions, itโ€™s nuclear.

Just fucking build more nuclear plants, we literally have SMR designs that are produced on an assembly line, with reactor liable cost and roll out time, all of which work like batteries for the grid. We could also go with solutions like ThorCon, which promises cheaper than coal energy production.

@wonka @davidho except it is cheaper (cheaper even than coal, which is the cheapest source on the market) and a single shipyard can produce 20 500 MW reactors a year.

@lisamelton @rooster @danirabbit seems very reasonable, I am highly supportive of both aims, but I also think you should be entitled to free health care, a tiara, safe spaces (like all trans beach parties) and weekly drinks with umbrellas on the house.

I figure we can come to a compromise somewhere, giving up the tiara for instance, even if the government would get a massive bulk purchase discount.

@lisamelton @rooster @danirabbit and you had a high profile career at a tech giant, from which one assumes there were some savings. Both Dani and Jessica have been quite open about pushing back or waiting for vital treatment, due to the cost or HMO coverage issues. Then there are the added monthly expenses for hormones and so on, plus typically therapy as well, all of which puts trans people at a disadvantage economically.

That is not how I was raised to accept things being.

    @jsrailton they are trying to save a buck. Deals with cellcos around the world to send those codes costs a bundle.

    However I suspect this is a negotiation tactic, since those same companies are offering their individual users unlimited messaging, so by tapping into that reasonably, then they get some leverage. The user simply agrees to send a few messages on their behalf, perfectly with in the ToS and cellcos are already selling all sorts of data, so they canโ€™t really hide behind protecting ppl
