Update everything that might use webp, such as , , and anything built on them. Also make sure you get an updated version of

Viewing webp images is enough to exploit unpatched software

For Firefox you might set "image.webp.enabled" to false in about:config for a while, there's probably something similar for Chrome

@Gina been remote only for a couple decades, it's marvelous

It's certainly easier in some countries

mesmerized doesn't begin to describe the fedi for me, and the fact I can contribute to it in some way is like a dream

I'm a self-taught hs dropout and I was lost for a few years until I learned webdev, it helped me grow and I still struggle with imposter syndrome but I wouldn't trade this for the world

I wore a mask the entire time to both SCaLEs in the last 12 months, but I was one of the few

I also got really sick ( not covid ) after SCaLE in March. I would really like to see us embrace and adopt the Public Health Pledge

Gandi was bought, has jacked prices. Per Fediverse threads I reviewed several registrars

ended up with cloudns

BTW, Gandi is renewing a month before expiration

It would be great if we could stop playing the "Q&A after the talk" game at conferences. Those are generally very low value to everybody but it gets even worse when you interrupt a speaker during their own time slot only to learn nobody has any questions anyway. Let the speaker talk, the Q&A isn't more important than what they prepared.

for most of my talks I take questions as they come up and I usually announce my preferences near the beginning of my talk

I generally don't get many questions, but they are often an opportunity for me to learn

a moderator is key for talks taking questions via chat, expressing my preferences to the moderator before the talk starts is part of my virtual talk checklist
