So while you & I might think its necessary to speed up the Green Transition & enhance/accelerate measures to reduce emissions, Shell's shareholders disagree.

The firm has just sought & obtained agreement from investors to slow down its measures to mitigate its environmental impact & reduce progress towards its own (already weak) climate targets.

More reason(s) the fossil fuels sector cannot really be central to climate response(s).

We don't have the time to slow down!

And a lot of the services that were in place to boost wartime production were dismantled.

On the west coast, the Kaiser shipyards had free daycare centers that operated 24/7, so parents could work graveyard and swing shifts. And they were high quality programs.

Although I think the TV show is wrong about which reasons will be part of Gilead. I guess there was a map shown briefly which had Gilead consisting of New England and the Rust Belt. Rebels controlled the west coast, TX, and FL.

Right? That is the part of Handmaid's Tale that I think may not be that bad. Gilead does not consist of all of the states. Parts of the west coast and other regions remain outside.

In WV: No surprise that Trump and Biden immediately were the projected winners.

In Wyoming County, Haley is only pulling 4.9%. What is with Wyomings?

MD: Too early to call. But I'm going to go out on a limb and say Trump and Biden. 😂

NE: Haley is already pulling over 25% with 17% of the vote counted.

Yesterday, I was told by my son's teacher that he got upset when another child answered the classroom door as he was the door monitor. My son said that he hated the fucking school and disrupted the class.

He not only got in trouble for this at home, but he had to sit in the office and miss two recesses today.

The story didn't end here, however. I went to school to pick him up today, and I saw several kids walking around with tiny pots with marigolds. I immediately realized these were Mother's Day gifts. We don't celebrate Mother's Day. Too hard on my son. He was adopted from foster care, and he is working through a lot with his biological mother.

The teacher handed me the citation from the day before. No big deal.

Then I saw one of my son's classmates with a potted marigold. And I realized what happened. I asked the classmate when they made the gift, and he said yesterday.

So, I went to talk to his teacher and aide. Yep, the outburst happened after they made Mother's Day gifts, and...

Lucy Caldwell, a Never Trumper, has repeatedly warned about donating to campaigns that are unwinnable. She points to Marcus Flowers, the Democrat who challenged MTG. He collected a ton of $$ and was never going to win.
