Anyone #RetroGaming anything good at the moment? I'm still on my PSP kick playing MGS Peace Walker which I think is going to keep me busy for a while. Especially as I'm not great at it 😶.

So happy I picked up a PSP again though. Such a fun console. I maaayyy have also bought Silent Hill Origins. I think that's probably all the games that I definitely want for it, but any suggestions of hidden gems that I should look out for?

THE PATH

You are standing on a dirt path next to a wooden bench. The air is cool beneath the shade of the trees.

The path continues to the north leading out of the forest. To the south it falls away, revealing the blue expanse of sea stretching to the horizon.

Switched up my commute game now that I've finished PicCross. I've never played much Mario Land 2... Struggling a little with the sliiiigggtlly floaty jumping. Still, I've got like 5 gold coins, and it's called the six gold coins... So I'm basically there I think 😶 #RetroGaming #gaming

The #GameCube has been such a fun console to explore. I didn't have it when it was current, but now it has pride of place in the #RetroGaming nook... Also, let's face it, it's the ultimate system for classic #ResidentEvil.

😳 my wife surprised me with an early, very unexpected, and super extravagant, Xmas present... (For various reasons it makes sense that it's this early). I'm super happy with it ☺️. although, not sure why she decided to give it to me right on the middle of a working from home day😂. Any recommendations what I should be playing? My gaming pc has been giving up for the past few years, so I'm very out of date. #Gaming

First up, my big purchase of the day, Eternal Darkness and Resident Evil Code Veronica for #GameCube . I've had my eye on Eternal Darkness for a while, and RE:CV completes my collection of Resident Evil titles for the GameCube!! 😁. As a system, I think the ol' cube has the most complete collection of the early Resi titles.

Not feeling too good today so I decided to snuggle up with some comfort #RetroGaming. Playing though my import copy of Biohazard 2. I've played this game countless times, but I never tire of it.

This moment right here is one of my favourites. Leon has just caught a glimpse of the licker going past the window and then when they enter this corridor they're treated to this viewpoint from outside; it's like the perspective is reversed and we're the licker just catching a glimpse of Leon.

I think @mforester gets points for picking up on my subtle #RetroGaming obsession. It is the notorious Biohazard Director's Cut Dual Shock edition.

For those of you who don't know, this game has two interesting features. Firstly a second "Complete" disc that I've very little idea what's on it (no spoilers please). And the legendarily terrible soundtrack which has an amazing backstory (you can read about it here https://www.inverse.com/gaming/resident-evil-25-composer-mamoru-samuragochi-impostor ). #RetroGaming #ResidentEvil

Finally been playing the Japanese only Dual Shock Directors Cut Biohazard (with notoriously bad soundtrack).

So far it mostly sounds like someone has discovered the autochord setting on a 90's Casio keyboard. It's not great. But also not so far quite as bad as I had imagined. There is apparently one particularly bad track in the basement I've yet to get to.

The balance also seems to make the music weirdly intrusive and hard to ignore #RetroGaming

Any #TomBraider fans out there? Aside from a demo on PC I don't think I've ever really played it. Been checking out the original on PS1. So far I have learnt:

• Larac Roft does not run fast
• Bats will mess you up
• You can execute the perfect jump, but it means nothing if you don't holster those pistols
• It's actually kind of relaxing
• Some f****r has been trapping wolves in caves

... Every so often I remember that I made some games for #arduboy years ago... And then I try and play them and... I suck at them. But some super awesome people made online emulators, so you can try them too! (Although I'm gonna say that they're way harder with touchscreen controls than the original hardware.

First up is 'Not Just a Hatrack' which was just me messing around with how platformers work. You gotta believe me, it feels tighter with clicky buttons. 🎩

In the late 80's, I distinctly remember going to a kid's science museum and there was a "Videophone" and it was going to be the future and everyone was going to have videophones. And now we have videophones, but we call it like Skype, or facetime, or zoom, so I'm asking you, please, before you next say "oh, let's meet over Teams" , try saying "I'll call you on the videophone" it'll make you feel much more like you're living in a moon dome from the year 2000.
