Independence will be good for Scotland and England. Doing my little bit to push it along.

Breaking: Polling expert Sir John Curtice has argued that another independence referendum WILL happen - because "the Union is in trouble".
'Making the case for the Union means explaining why Brexit is to Scotland's advantage. Good luck with that!’ he said.

@Funwithphotos Interesting, but the question ‘if we are not ‘allowed’ a referendum what process can be used by Scotland to dissolve the union?’ should have been repeatedly asked of Westminster and Westminster parties by SNP, Greens, Indy groups, etc, unrelentingly for the last 5 years.

<sigh> Real, really tired of the argument that Scotland can't be independent because country X made bad choices with theirs. Independence means having the power to make your own choices, good or bad. That's the point.

Imagine it was 74% of England’s revenue and 37% of its spending that was controlled by a parliament 400 miles away in a different country. Don’t you think they’d be demanding a vote on independence?

Singapore is smaller than the Isle of Mull, and since independence in 1965 when it also joined the UN, has grown its economy to 15x the size. According to UK Chancellor Jeremy Hunt it’s transformed itself from a “tiny territory devoid of natural resources into the world’s 8th richest country”.

Malta is smaller than the Isle of Arran, with a population smaller than Edinburgh. It became independent from the UK in 1964, and its GDP is only 5% of Scotland's. An independent Scotland in the EU would have a veto on all EU trade deals. It would have a veto on the EU budget. It would have a veto on EU taxation policy. In the UK 'union of equals' it has a veto on none of these things. Download printable file - https://indyposterboy.scot/eu-veto/

@OliverNoble Note the smallest reason for my desire for Scottish independence is that I believe it will also benefit England greatly. England needs to recognise its diminished position in the world and when it does that will be able to focus better on solving its own problems.

Indyposterboy,

@IndyRichard Permission? They'd not even discuss it with us. Westminster is very much England's parliament, and they'd just go ahead. (apart from anything else, WM's English votes for English laws (EVEL) would mean we'd not be allowed to debate it anyway)
