Daily #Wales in winter for this week (and probably next). Pics taken over the past few years. This lump of a hill is called Moelfre - essentially ‘baldy’ - and features in many of my pics because it’s behind the village. #Cymru#Landscape#LandscapePhotography
@fkamiah17 Diolch! Moelfre helps - such a perfect shape (it’s like Mordor at the top though - all broken rock shatter, not been up there since I damaged my Achilles, waaaaay too rough)
I can honestly say a) how much I’ve enjoyed my year here, b) that I have not a single regret about leaving ahem ahem cough, and c) that I loathe and despise ahem ahem cough even more now than I did then.
And I hope people like my Daily Wales pics (have had messages asking why they’re no longer on ahem ahem cough, always happy to explain), so here’s another to mark the anniversary. Almost. As in five days ago. #mastodon#mastoversary
Daily #Wales time, before looking at the news so no need for calm. Here’s Barmouth / Abermaw (or Y Bermo, if you like) after a storm a few years back. I was standing on the top of a dune which had previously been a footpath… oddly beautiful, tho.
I think I’m angrier than Storm Agnes this morning (blame Suella Cruella Braverman). So I need something to calm down before heading to work - should be WFH, really - along the coast road for today’s Daily #Wales. Here’s a deserted Traeth Harlech / Harlech beach.
Fingers crossed for no fallen trees etc later. Fingers immediately uncrossed for Cruella’s future.
@fkamiah17 As does the possibility of GB news being sued out of existence. They are really shutting (I’ll leave that autocarrot) themselves; not sure I’ve ever read a more grovelling apology…. 😈😈😈
All the rain we’ve had (remnants of Hurricane Something, apparently) has given the little streams and rivers a change of pace. Yesterday’s Afon Ysgethin is today’s Daily #Wales
Really wild outside, so today’s Daily #Wales reflects that (though it’s not quite as bad as when this was taken - the sea eating the prom at Barmouth a few years ago).
In all I think lowering speed limits in Wales is a good idea but the implementation coming out of Carmarthen towards my place is a right dog's breakfast Over the space of two or three miles the limit goes 50-30-20-30-50-30-20-30-20-50, it's bonkers. And the signs that indicate your speed still show green if someone is doing 30 in a 20 zone, those need adjusting too.
@llamasoft_ox My journeys yesterday in Ardudwy were similar - some places seem to have a ‘decompression zone’ of 30 whereas other just take you down from national limit of 60 or 50 straight to 20. I broadly support but am spending so much time checking speed that I’m not sure how safe this is. ATM.
Daily #Wales needs to calm me down. Arghhhh (that’s a general arrrggghhh, taking in politics, climate change, Musk and the fact that the tourists are still here and still driving so badly that one mobile home nearly forced me into a wall yesterday).
It happened to a friend of mine (coercive control) and it took him years to admit it, though only weeks into the relationship to see it. Only a few of us know. He’s so embarrassed.
