I was onboard with toots at first but over time it just feels way better to call them posts, I dunno 😂
Always funny when the ATP hosts earnestly call them toots, unless they’re just saying it ironically 😅
Kaiji No. 8 time, I am really loving this #anime so far! It's so good, simultaneously being wholesome and mysterious. Kafka is the best himbo of all in this series, it's giving me life atm! There are more anime drops today to watch before getting back into #Minecraft to continue building my food production/preparation area. As once this is done, I want to create specific areas for construction, blacksmithing, and my Minecraft world's lore. After that, I will turn Easy mode!
Hrm.
I've avoided Nier: Automata because of the fanbase/fanart, but I just got curious and actually looked up a short video and... it kind of looks like what I wish Bayonetta 3 had been.
Anyone have any experience with it? How open is this? Hub based? JRPG styled? Level based with larger stages?
@Gwendolyn I think that makes a lot of sense. Bayonetta feels like she's more in on the joke or self-aware than 2B.
I'm of the opinion that horny art is fine on its own; the rationalizations and defenses are corny. If someone wants to draw/look at thicc art, that's chill. Just own it. It's fine.
I understand being put off by a game's community though. Not for horny art but plenty of other games for plenty of other reasons haha.
If you end up playing it, i hope your enjoy it on its own merits!
@spinning_bird@Gwendolyn I get that! The short dress and the thigh slit make exposure pretty unavoidable. Like you said, the way they seem accidental feels disingenuous when that's a clear design/camera choice.
Would those shots be less annoying if they were portrayed as more intentional and less incidental?
@Gwendolyn@spinning_bird I admittedly phrased the question awkwardly but these conversations are always interesting to me so I'm glad you answered as well
that kind of voyeuristic leering feels juvenile and immature now that I'm an adult who has navigated sex and relationships
The feeling of the player "getting away with something" is gross and feels very juvenile, very "players are men, men are horny, women aren't, sex is a thing women have to defend from horny guys"
God bless the #artists who draw #thicc#curvy gal #fanart. Real "I don't care what shape she had previously, she's stacked now. She's fictional and so is her back pain." Y'all are the real MVPs
LikeWhere does a MF have to look to find some male gaze art? It's common on every other #art site i visit except this one. I wonder if PixelFed is any better but i somehow doubt it.
@oct2pus Ok, so "distress or physical health issues" are still ambiguous but I think my aesthetics taste ranges from hella thicc to merely super (chubby) thicc to mild hyper
I have a sort of essay idea in my mind. In video form it might be titled something like “You don’t actually want a rating system” and the thumbnail would maybe be a “most people rejected his message” meme with the message being a number with an error value like you’d find on a Glicko-2 system like ratingupdate or Pokemon Showdown! As part of this, I feel like it would be interesting to get perspectives on why various places rejected Glicko-2, usually in favour of Elo. I know chess has stuck with Elo (despite Glicko being designed for chess lol) and PS! has Glicko ratings but uses Elo for ladder rankings. And one of PS!’s predecessors, Shoddy Battle, was the original Pokémon simulator to use Glicko-2. There might be a lot of potential there.
I don’t really think I’m cut out to be anything like a regular blogger or video essayist, though.
I know Elo is most associated with chess but i know it more from Nate Silver and his use of it to assess basketball and football team predictions and results
