I saw the new commercial, the one which got everyone up in arms; It's certainly showing a side of the Silicon Valley which has been out in the open: An open disdain of outdated things in favor of the newest best thing.

Thankfully, Apple's latest tech slab won't ever be able to destroy or replace the thing which sparks creative joy within any creative. They certainly wouldn't mind if it did; I don't think they could ever bring that magic to a generic looking tablet.

i'm finding myself getting strangely angry whenever i get called 'sir' these days. one, it's very rare and comes off as disingenuous, but i can't put my finger on what the other reason is.

@Dinoracha Personally the word 'sir' feels stiff...Harsh even at times despite it being an honorific. I feel my hackles rise every time I hear the word.

@Dinoracha I wonder as well, this could be the root cause. Looking inward and actively considering the feelings in each situation which would provoke a reaction...Might yield a qualitative answer.

Instead, it's become a cop-out for lazy writers and executives alike looking to recycle old franchises.

@Strider Yeah, I feel like Multiverse has become used in the laziest or greed driven ways of late as well! My only implementation for it is mostly due to it being a petri dish of sorts (self-contained experiments) that wouldn't play nicely in the same story universe. There is occasional story shared between one world to another. Nothing wild like I've seen from big franchises.

I tried playing Hyper Light Drifter; It's a mean-spirited game in terms of enemy placement, however, I am starting to get better at the game. The Northern Area is the easier section, based on what I read. I started in the Eastern part of the map, I have a better gun, and this will make the Northern area much easier! Getting some easy currency for upgrades will be quite nice.

@keenan I was teased a lot for liking "gay" things by dudes who most certainly listened to the same music. Straight dudes that felt ashamed by their music choices, verbally attacked me as a vent for those feelings. They had no healthy way of reconciling their feelings, as talking about those feelings would make them turn in their man card. Being the sassiest open homo in school, I simply clapped back enough to make them stop. It hurt, and I returned that pain to them with sharp words.

@keenan Exactly, the cycle continues to inflict pain as it is fed; Without change to the interpersonal dynamics we experience now, this will only foster a social, emotional, and physical destruction on an individual and in turn, a larger scale.

Being brave is a challenging thing as it's marshalling your fear in a productive way. High School is a wild ass place, I'd make up for that now as your an adult, capable and stronger now. You can act as a beacon for those who are lost in the dark!

05/08: When writing technical or scientific detail, how much is plausible versus imagined?

If I understand a concept that is either technical or scientific enough, I may expound upon it in a way which makes it more plausible. Naturally in cases that I don't understand, I do some handwaving based on the perspective of a character. From there rule of cool takes over as not everything needs to be written realistically.

@Constantine Yeah, I am finding this to be a well written article! No corpo could be considered my pal, they only occasionally produce a banger game I like. I won't jump to their defense like those free PR providing gaming fanatics do! They better update the games which are affected by the closures of studios, as nobody should be tricked into buying a game which is not being supported by devs. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

@Constantine Indie gaming might be the path for exciting and innovative games going forward! As the big corps will certainly continue a trend of being risk adverse going forward. Putting out big games filled to the brim of unoriginality and nothing to say! Games like Forespoken and that other magic FPS (so forgettable that I can't recall it) burned Sony enough that they'll try to make more interesting games in the future.

@Dennis5891 Sterling is a genuine reviewer through and through, anything they've reviewed is fair! Journalistic integrity mixed with snide remarks and jokes has always been a priority for Sterling. The 7.5/10 seems like a fair score for a decent but clumsy game like this.

When I was a kid, I used to love eating pizza hot pockets with a side of cottage cheese. To me, that was a good meal, the two things went well together.
I would love to have a hot pocket again, but they are owned by Nestlรฉ and I fucking hate Nestlรฉ.

Does anyone know of any good off brand hot pockets besides from Schwans?

Not putting a save point anywhere in the first 50 minute section of Nier: Automata and making you repeat the whole thing if you die vs the boss at the end is certainly an interesting design decision ๐Ÿ˜ก I nearly put the game down right there

Not sure I've got the motivation to carry on playing a game that disrespectful of the players time

@COMPU73E I feel your fury, as that was the wildest opening section ever! 50 minutes without a save point feels criminally offensive, as itโ€™s a slap in the face for anyone that wanted a quick boss retry! Or was in need of a break and didnโ€™t want to leave the game paused. Itโ€™s truly inexcusable in the modern gaming scene. I had to do that section twice, as I died the first time. Almost put it down completely (somehow persevered).

Today, I watched anime and enjoyed breakfast instead of playing Baldurโ€™s Gate 3. As they are conducting lead level tests on the water, every apartment is naturally being tested. I didnโ€™t want them to hear my cursing from frustration (due to bad dice rolls), of course they likely ran the test while Iโ€™m at work. ROFL

This will go on for 3 weeks but at least itโ€™s just going to be on Monday and Tuesday (that sucks as those are my work days).

Of course, the bad dice rolls will get better as Iโ€™ve figured out the niche I want a character to fill and respec them appropriately for that role. Shadowheart will likely remain a Trickery Domain Cleric, but my Druid will become more of a charming Spell Caster! I want to make Astarion less of a spellcaster and more of a super sneaky bastard. Wyll might get his niche changed as well, it remains to be seen. I have to look at their builds in depth.
