I take it to mean they hate Israel/Jews more than they like or approve of Hamas. —Which BTW seems to be the case not just with Palestinians & most Muslims, but now with Leftists & so-called Progressives as well. We saw huge demonstrations chanting “from the river to the sea” & celebration of massacre by elite university professors, condemnations of Israel while the blood was still flowing & before Israel had responded.

@sqgl @Jonricha @nicholas_saunders I’m originally from the USSR & have lived in Jew York for most of my days. One of my best friends from HS is an Albanian Muslim. I was working in the North tower or WTC of 9/11. Neither of us are religious, yet in the aftermath, she stopped talking to me after I mentioned that my (at the time) BF said the US should threaten to bomb Meca (in order to stop further attacks).

After a few years or so, we salvaged our friendship and still get together periodically.

@sqgl @Jonricha @nicholas_saunders I love her & was honestly disappointed/hurt she didn’t bother to reach out after Oct7. When I finally talked to her (I called her after about a few weeks or month went by), I eventually brought it up and told her how I felt. Her response was, “oh you’re not really a Jew”.

She’s prone to joking in order to deflect… I try not to overthink it anymore for the sake of sanity & maintaining our friendship, but definitely feel it’s a taboo subject, best to avoid.

I first became aware of Leftists’ animosity for Israel on Twitter, but mostly dismissed the #WokeMindVirus as hyperbole. The response to #Oct7Massacre was a rude awakening & proved how pervasive & extreme the problem actually is. I get the inclination to side with underdogs & perceived victims, but the lack of empathy, callousness & even vitriol for Oct7 victims (inc. American) was/is shocking indeed.

Do you honestly think that in the midst of trying to find hostages & kill terrorists -while already under a microscope, the IDF went out of its way to kill WCK staff & alienate even more ppl/governments?

@Jonricha @8124 understood. At the end of the day… think we all wish for an end to the bloodshed & destruction, even if we have differences in the perception of blame/accountability/degrees etc…

It’s important to keep in mind that Israel isn’t perfect but didn’t start this war & fighting an asymmetrical enemy ie a genocidal terrorist death cult, who’s implicit strategy is using its civilian population as human shields.
