While a Trump presidency couldn’t slam the brakes on the E.V. transition, it could throw enough sand in the gears to slow it down. And that might have significant consequences for the fight to stop global warming.
You’re totally right I just want to mention one of their benefit which is the markedly decreased emissions from a smog standpoint! Some cities really struggle with this problem.
But from a climate change perspective you’re right.
I’ve had training in basic statistics at multiple times in my career. The technical term for this is horseshit. Or is it bullshit? Hmm, time to hit the books again I guess.
Bit of a weird one here. So, there’s the assumption made by all cops and most courts that any area visible to passersby does not have an expectation of privacy. That means front yards, open garages, etc. Courts and cops have mostly agreed this expectation of privacy does not suddenly appear no matter how long the government...
I am not a lawyer but I am a drone operator. Honestly I’m surprised this ruling was as reserved as it is. Once you get above a certain altitude (generally above the usable space above the ground - so not 6 feet but you could argue 50+ feet easily in most single home dwellings) then you are in federally controlled airspace. This is why airplanes and helicopters can travel over your property without trespassing. Same is true for drones, assuming they are high enough to not be in the usable airspace above the ground.
If you think about it this is functionally not that different than using aircraft to spot marijuana fields, etc.
Now I generally am pro-privacy and would be fine if the rules were more restrictive regarding the surveillance end of this but I can imagine it’s hard to find where the right spot is.
In this case though, it’s easy to imagine they were able to photograph the edges of the junkyard without even flying over the property perhaps. I can fly straight up above my home and see into many of my neighbor’s backyards without leaving my property - it’s just how having a high viewpoint works.
Yeah I think that’s pretty obvious. The problem is that we as citizens can’t really seem to make that happen. A lot are trying and making a lot of noise and yet the politicians and corporations are barreling on down the road. All I’m saying is that if I’m a scientist who has an idea that might help buy time for our species, it might be worth pursuing because I can’t just go snap my fingers and make every city build usable public transportation.
I doubt it will come to this. Instead what they will do is pass laws so that mid level providers can legally practice like physicians. Just make physicians unnecessary. Hospitals love it because PAs are way cheaper to employ. Everyone wins (except for the patient but we don’t need to think about that).
Same for me. I took multiple trips as a young adult where I just took scenery photos. Twenty years later I really regretted not including myself and family in those photos. Think of yourself in the future and skip sharing them online.
Kaiser, one of the largest healthcare organizations in the United States, said it was notifying 13.4 million members of a data breach earlier in April.
Absolutely! That’s one of the many things you are agreeing to when they have you sign the little electronic pad that has no other text on it as “consent to treat you today.” I would have thought that was obvious!
When we piece it all together, we understand the truth: **We are in a totalitarian doomsday cult. **
Why on earth would our elites do this? There are many reasons, but the simplest is because capitalism is unsustainable, and they knew it: Climate change and resource extraction would catch up eventually. So, they never intended to sustain it. They knew all along that they would gobble up all the wealth they could, and then yank the rug out from under us so they could pivot to a hellish fascist dystopia.
Yeah I too think he was likely mentally ill. But damn if this didn’t resonate.

You can also just hold the power and volume up buttons. You don’t actually have to swipe to power off the phone. Just holding those buttons long enough for the “Swipe to power off” to appear on screen will also lock out biometrics and force a PIN.
I’m so glad to have read your criticism as it summed up how I felt about BotW. For context I am NOT a huge Zelda nerd but I played Twilight Princess back in the day and loved it. BotW got such press and rave reviews everywhere I turned that I finally pulled the trigger and bought a Switch just to play it. I played a few hours and was like… I can’t do this it is so boring.
I’m interested in hearing both about if you still use the default carrying case that comes with the deck, and if you use any kind of protective clip-on case such as the Killswitch, JSAUX Modcase, or other.
I bought and love the Tomtoc carrying pack which has enough space for earbuds, charger, and cable but isn’t onerous in size. Highly recommend it.
Edit to add that the pack is soft so if not stuffed full it takes up less space than some of the marketing photos suggest. Also it’s nice because it has a stiff, padded baffle inside that is made to fit over the screen and controls to protect them from getting smushed despite the soft pack.
By now, everyone in the world knows that American tipping culture is getting out of hand. That doesn’t mean you can’t introduce another way of “supporting” creators. Mike Ybarra, the former president of Blizzard, shared his desire to tip developers of especially enjoyable games....
To be fair I’ve had a similar thought after finishing a couple of games. Both were indie games though and I thought they were underpriced relative to the value that I got out of them. I mostly felt that way because I really really want to encourage good behavior from studios rather than see it all go to microtransactions and subscriptions.
My guess would be that the motive was trying to ensure that the patients who received a transplant there would be successful. In other words, trying to ‘cherry pick’ which patients make it to transplant in order to make their success rate artificially high. Being a transplant surgeon can be very prestigious and if your numbers make you the best of the best…
