So, I posted in a discord server looking for players for my campaign. I specifically made the point, as I did in my post here, that I am looking for folks of marginalized genders and sexualities.

As I don't know these folks, unlike those I've gathered from here. I sent a message to those who indicated interest.

Just like, "hey, thanks for the interest, I just want to check one thing: I absolutely do not tolerate Republican/Conservatives at my table."

This person blocked me LMAO.

@MsHearthWitch I feel it's better to just take note of which people have the potential to be dickwads, and if they choose to be a cunt kick and block them immediately. But if you can get then to filter themselves our, that's great too

Something I haven't been able to put my finger on before now that bugs me about the / / material is that it's dismantling the playstyle flexibility of the 2014 Player's Handbook.

With that book alone, you can play wild high fantasy, anchored high fantasy, low fantasy … the whole spectrum is available to you.

From Tasha's onward, though, you're playing wild high fantasy, period. People with animal heads are commanding swarms of spectral bees and that's just everyday life.

I didn't realize how bloated had gotten until I was doing for my setting and tried to make cultures for every playable race. I ran out of sensible ideas fast.

And I wasn't trying to put in a lot of work. I gave each one anywhere between a sentence and a paragraph, depending on how relatively unusual the race was compared to human culture. It was hard.

@Tim_Eagon @bedirthan @KeithAmmann On a complete tangent, ever thought about why the different kinds of elves/dwarves/gnomes/etc exist? Somebody in TSR clearly thought that it was unrealistic for one species to have dramatically different kinds of cultures and societies without having literal genetic differences.

The elves and dwarves in the PHB have a good excuse in that all their special things are just different training, but all the later splat is clearly written by a sussy baka
