Für diejenigen, die Android-Geräte betreiben, bei denen sie kein Custom ROM installieren können (oder wollen), hier zwei gnulinux.ch-Artikel, in denen es darum geht, wie auch ein Stock-Android ohne Root weitgehend datensparsam betrieben werden kann und wie Google-Apps und weitere Bloatware entfernt werden können:
Im ersten Teil der Artikelreihe "Datensparsames Android mit der Android Debug Bridge" beschreibt Matthias "den Versuch, unter Android durch Umbau mittels der Android Debug Bridge (ADB), ohne Root soweit wie möglich an das Datenschutzniveau besserer Android Custom ROMs heranzukommen. Es ist der erste Teil einer voraussichtlich dreiteiligen Serie. Ergänzend dazu habe ich im Artikel "Google-Apps und weitere Bloatware loswerden mit dem Universal Android Debloater Next Generation" noch eins der Tools vorgestellt, mit dessen Hilfe Funktionen der "Android Debug Bridge" über ein grafisches Frontend genutzt werden. So können auf relativ einfachem Weg auf vergoogelten Androids Google-Apps und weitere Bloatware wie Hersteller- und Werbeapps entfernt werden.
Is my understanding correct that there are no @framework laptops in 16x9 (or 16x10) aspect ratios available right now? eg the pre-order for next quarter delivery is the only option?
It is moderately likely I will need a laptop before that time window and dont want to miss the opportunity to get a framework (but the 3:2* aspect ratio... isn't for me).
I mostly work in fullscreen windows and the 3:2 aspect ratio allows me to have more code/text on my screen at once, while keeping the laptops size small.
I am once again considering to write my own window manager
...unless the setup I am thinking of is already possible, let me construct this in your head:
On the top of the screen, there is narrow status bar, which is split into two parts. On the right side of the bar, you have your clock, your battery, your signal strength and so on.
On the left side, there is a clickable tab for every window you have opened. It's like browser tabs: Every window always uses the entire space below the status bar.
On the far left, there could be an icon which opens a searchable list of applications, kind of like #dmenu but vertical. Everything supports mouse input as you would expect.
Does that exist? Should I make it? It would be awesome for smaller screens, like phones.
Edit: I should add that I'm planning to run it on a Nokia N900 with a single 600 MHz CPU core, 256 MB RAM and a resolution of 800×480 pixels. Existing full desktop environments like Xfce4, LXDE, and so on are way to heavy to run.
Can I clear cookies upon closing LibreWolf and then have it reopen previous tabs upon startup? As I understand it, activating the "Delete cookies and site data when LibreWolf is closed" option also triggers the "Clear history when LibreWolf closes" setting, preventing LibreWolf from restoring the previous session upon startup.
