I'm excited to let you know that we have stood up our very own #PeerTube instance. This is so cool. We've posted all the videos for my Dot Social podcast. We also posted our original Flipboard launch video for fun.
@gamingonlinux Those reviews mean nothing, there are 50k people playing it right now on steam... People, if you want to punish blizzard dont people their games!
What Happened?
About a month into creating our instance, The Mali Government reclaimed many of its .ml domains, rendering both our website and lemmy useless. Federation does not allow domain changes, so it put us in a difficult position. If you'd like more detail as to what went down, you can check out this thread.
What Now?
Given that our instance was so new, we've decided to start fresh on .net, with a host that is both more secure and piracy friendly.
This means that accounts and communities will need to be remade, however all the posts from the first instance can still be recovered and imported using the tool below.
Anyone can post comments, threads, or even start their own communities.
It's both Piracy and NSFW friendly.
Image uploads on the site are working.
Self-promotion is fine as long as the community you’re in allows it.
Thank you all for being so patient while we got this sorted out. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment, and we'll do our best to answer. If you'd like to be notified about future Lemmy updates you can follow us here.
Hello!
This is where we will announce something in case our FMHY instance on lemmy goes down. This instance is private but you can follow and view us through any calckey or mastodon instance.
Right now the user count Lemmys is comparatively tiny when held up against reddit - but the user count isn't the thing that makes a social media site, it's the engagement...
Everytime I go on Odysee, the content there seems to drift more and more towards conspiracy theories, complete disinformation and nonsense, or at worst ultra racist / xenophobic / hateful rethoric. The staff has a history of just saying amen to everything, including white supremacist stuff.
I’ve been thinking of abandoning it (I would keep PeerTube as the alternative to YouTube for people who really don’t want to use YT). Out of curiosity, a little poll about my content:
Elon's entire thought process when deciding to rename Twitter to 'X.'
Do your part, try not to lurk!
