@librarianknight Autist here👋 Only with some things. Hot Chips have to be hot...can be revived in air fryer. Milkshake & soft drinks must be cold. Other items mentioned - baked beans & spaghetti - I did eat cold when I was a kid. My sensitivities lie with texture and having the right utensil for eating. They have to feel 'right' in my mouth. @actuallyautistic

    @hosford42 I find that sad, on many levels. Coined words are not the sole province of the coiner, unless they patent them. Trying to limit neurodiversity to previous 'understood' traits, is to negate anything learned since then. Psychologists who think like that need to shut up, sit down, and listen to the community. We've been denied our lives for too long. @actuallyautistic

    @Richard_Littler My Hubby is , but he is able to filter out what he doesn't want to hear, where I can't. I find that the more anxious I get, the harder it is to deal with competing sounds - voices, music, traffic. My retreat is immersing myself in reading. @actuallyautistic

    @ReimanSaara @payaldhar @jeanoappleseed I had what were called panic attacks. I think that they were when I thought I 'should be' doing or feeling one way, but had relaxed and unmasked. Others expectations can still rule you even when you are alone. It's part of the masking trauma. @actuallyautistic

    @ReimanSaara So true. I am lucky. I don't need to be in public. I can get necessary alone time. I feel for my fellow autistics who need to work outside the home, and often in places where they have to interact with a lot of people...who all have expectations of particular behaviour. Gah! A nightmare. How can they not experience regular burnout, and renewed trauma? @payaldhar @jeanoappleseed @actuallyautistic

    @LeatherCubAndrew Yikes. How hideous. Sorry that you were fired (grossly unfair), but it would definitely cause colossal burnout. The lockdown period of the pandemic was when I discovered my autism. The relief of not having to try to be sociable made me realise how much it took out of me.
