@aenea a mi la última de spam en Mastodon me reforzó la idea. Alguna gente con instancias pequeñas de Mastodon empezaron a recibir el spam y el proveedor les cobro un pastizal en trafico. A mi en su día me paso con uno que aprovecho una vulnerabilidad para descargar torrents a saco y lo note por la factura. Una cagada, o un ataque te puede costar un riñón con uno de esos. Pero consideras el riesgo de tener una factura de 100k€ aceptable, pues muy bien los virtuales que puedes ajustar el tamaño

¿Os acordáis que me quejé de que ahora la web de exige registro obligatorio para ver el contenido a la carta? Pues bueno, escribí un email a la defensora de la audiencia y ya me ha respondido.

El registro obligatorio en RTVE play ofrece una serie de ventajas en la funcionalidad de la plataforma. Estos son los argumentos que emplea RTVE para defender esta decisión: “La primera es porque el usuario registrado puede acceder a una experiencia de navegación mucho más interesante. Puede seguir viendo un contenido allá donde lo dejó, puede hacer listas con sus contenidos preferidos o participar en las consultas o foros que pongamos en marcha entre otras ventajas. La segunda razón es que RTVE puede adaptar su oferta a las preferencias de cada usuario. Con la información que nos facilitan los usuarios somos capaces de realizar recomendaciones adaptadas o tomar decisiones de contenidos que tengan en cuenta lo que los usuarios prefieren. Si no podemos distinguir entre el perfil de un usuario y el de otro, esta recomendación es imposible. El registro es completamente gratuito y RTVE garantiza total transparencia en el uso de los datos de todos los usuarios (Política de privacidad).” Como Defensora de la Audiencia valoro las ventajas que ofrece el registro, pero considero que no debería ser obligatorio y que en última instancia debería ser el ciudadano quien elija. Así se lo he comunicado a la Presidenta de la Corporación. Espero que valoren las quejas recibidas por este asunto. Recogemos y trasladamos su comentario. Reciba un cordial saludo".

@angel en mi empresa mantenemos supercomputadores para que investigadores las usen en diferentes proyectos de investigación pública. Bastantes (todas las GPUs las solemos tener ocupadas) trabajan con LLM o ML para proyectos como investigación contra el cancer, vacunas o medio ambiente. Esas son también "IA" (ninguna es, pero bueno usaremos el acrónimo de moda), y quizás no sean herramientas perfectas (las investigaciones tiene que fallar para llegar a algún lado) pero creo que pueden ayudar

@angel Y usamos energías renovables para todo, el exceso de calor va a la calefacción de las ciudades donde tenemos centros de datos y apenas usamos agua (que aquí en Finlandia hay mucha) para refrigerar

I don't want to work in a company that doesn't understand that the role of a CTO is not the same as Software Developer. These are quite different things. But also, luckily in many countries that would be discrimination by age

Finnish Employment Minister Arto Satonen doesn't seem to know what politics is, or strikes, or labour bargaining. Because any action to affect a political decision is politics, so any strike is political. Or maybe he want to restrict the rights of workers to nullify unions and workers

Schibsted, the owner, were merging websites and reducing overlapping services a couple of years ago. I'm quite tired of the annoying login solution they implemented. Let's see if they don't end up swallow by an even bigger fish. Or maybe one day people will post here their second hand sales instead of Tori or Blocket

A ver si alguien conoce algo:
tengo varios cientos de gigas de fotos y me gustaría encontrar un programa para analizarlas y que me borre las que te estén repetidas o sean muy parecidas. Por ejemplo cuando hago fotos de algo siempre pulso varias veces por si alguna sale movida. No sé si existe un programa así.

En su día me programé yo un script que hacia grupos de fotos basandose en los histogramas de color pero también se podría usar la fecha, coordenadas de las fotos y cosas así que yo no tenía en cuenta. ¿Alguien conoce algún software que lo haga? Si no me tendré que poner yo con ello...

You can't unionize part of your workers. You have to unionize all of them otherwise you have no collective bargaining power and will just get fired. We saw this with the actor/writers strike. They were all unionized so they had power. This is a slight simplification, but not much of one.

Maybe this will help US people understand. I see my Union as an insurance. It's there in case something goes wrong. You know the risk of driving without insurance, well it's similar as working without coverage

Ahora que estoy empezando (después de 5 años) a aprender el Finés, de lo primero que he aprendido es que el Fines tiene una forma de hablar y otra de escribir. Y que me ha recordado al andaluz que oficialmente se escribe de una forma y se habla de otra. Por ejemplo "mi nombre" se dice "mun nimi" y se escribe "minun nimi".

Seems like Finnish government want to kill YLE (public TV broadcaster) by not forcing the building companies to ensure that YLE can be watched https://valtioneuvosto.fi/hanke?tunnus=LVM002:00/2024 The excuse seems very bad, that this "limits the development of cable broadband services" when most people is not using even a 10% of current network capacity at home, how many download at 100Mbps when fibre optic can transfer up to 10.000Mbps easily

I am not a programmer. I know it's JS for backend stuff, among other things, but that's about all I know.

I need to set up some machines for an internal customer that have NVM and NodeJS and Angular.

I found an role to accomplish this… but it says to clone in into the "roles" directory of the project.

gives me hives, even though I'm not a beginner.

Is repo-in-a-repo okay? or am I just asking for trouble?

Best practice is to use requirements.yml and Ansible Galaxy
You can do a git submodule but it will give you more headaches
