Playing Nier Automata while waiting upon the release of another …It’s a beautiful and frustrating experience thus far. I can overcome some of the challenges it presents, so I go into focus mode upon being challenged. If you ever come across my body, “A cursed child got killed at a blood-soaked battlefield.” is the death message you’d encounter. Surprisingly, I only die in encounters with multiple phases. In normal combat or boss fights…I survive!

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds I totally agree! My favorite variant is the end of yorha because of the languages mixing in it’s so beautiful. I’m so glad that I bought nier automata instead of street fighter v all those years ago lol and even stuck through the opening segment when I was so bad at it

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds the language mixing was so fun for me speaking a bit of the three so going back and forth was phenomenal to me!!! Also how the music makes you feel like you’re in an unknown place with the songs not being in a real language the soundtrack is so good I really need to get it on cd!!!

I’ve heard about transistor but haven’t really looked into it at all

@OutofPrintArchive after discussing ys it made me want to pull out my small pc collection with all the goodies I really enjoy seeing some of the random goodies I love that SC has sheet music and a drama cd and almost all of them have art books and playing manuals there’s a ton of great art in them. I’ll always be keeping an eye out for these from now on just for the little goodies

Last night I was ready to start a new RPG. It’s been quite a while so I was in the perfect mood for it.
And since I watched that Ys video I really wanted to play an entry into the series.
Since I can’t restart 8 on PS5 yet, I decided to go with Memories of Celceta.
I only played the intro back in the day on Vita. Played for about 3 hours last night and I’m really enjoying it. Can’t wait to go home late tonight and play some more.

@Dennis5891 @OutofPrintArchive I believe it was the NEC pc-88 in 1987 I remember having ys3 wanders of ys on snes at one point and I still own my pc disc copy of ys origin for windows 98 it’s been a long ride for sure so far

@OutofPrintArchive @Dennis5891 I didn’t know there was a falcom collection on Saturn can you show a picture of that??? My first year was ys3 wanderers of ys and I didn’t get into it the first one I got into was ys 1/2 on ds

I’ve known about falcom for a while but only recently have I done a deep dive into their catalogue now I’m working through trails

It has been a really long time since I used an original Game Boy now that you mention it.
The screen on that one was always a bit hard to see, no matter under which condition.

But the Pocket, Color and Light were both brilliant in direct sunlight. The original GBA as well actually. As is the Neo Geo Pocket and WonderSwan.

@OutofPrintArchive I’m not to knowledgeable when it comes to games like judgement silversword but there’s weird rhythm games on it like beatmania from Konami, it has awful controls just like the gameboy one the final fantasy console packaging looks super beautiful tho and my only game is a cib inuyasha

None of the kids at a gaming con play test booth knew how to use a mouse and keyboard. So they replaced it with a controller. Then half the kids walking up brushed the controller aside and tried touching the monitor. 😱

@InfiniteHench I saw this as a con I went to last year and felt really bad because one of the kids knocked over the monitor and almost broke their table. Thankfully they didn’t and I’m still following the project but my word kids are something else sometimes

In America one of the things I constantly hear is “it’s so is light out when kids go to school” but that’s bullshit they move the clocks back and forth but it’s always dark when I go into my teaching job I hate it with a passion like really what good does it do

@64bithero this is one of those gray areas for me because tipping should be to the cooks but I find that it’s the wait staff telling me my bag is on the shelf are the ones asking for a tip. I just kinda find tipping culture ridiculous in general. I had a self scan machine ask me for a tip recently in a grocery store it’s ridiculous!

I’m looking at putting all my music from my cds onto my Walkman and using that on the 13 hour flight to Japan but I know that won’t be fun.

I’m wondering does music that’s downloaded through Apple Music become easily accessible to grab the mp3 files like music that’s purchased or uploaded by oneself? It would save me a lot of time just grabbing some soundtracks that way instead of ripping them.

I was quite tired after a long day at work, so I wanted a game that I could play at a little slower pace.
So I went back to Sniper Elite 4.

Weeks ago, I had been talking about the viaduct level in the game to my buddy at work.
Just got to it again.
This level really stuck with me over the years.
Perfectly laid out and such an amazing atmosphere.

And shooting nazis in the balls and seeing their testicles explode with a well timed sniper shot never gets old! 😅

@OutofPrintArchive Oh dang that’s actually really impressive looking, I’ve been waiting for the game to go down in price to pick it up not sure if I want it on PC or PS yet. But yeah I agree it looks almost the same as 4 in the bigger maps so I’m not sure where the linear argument came from for 4 being more “open world” than 5.

I have over 1000 hours in 4 so I probably should upgrade here soonish haha here’s hoping it’s on sale soon

@OutofPrintArchive it went on sale digitally in the us today for 25$ so I got it that way since I don’t want to bring a crap ton of physical games with me to Japan I can’t wait to try it Monday!
