Anyone want a MacPro 3.1 2008 Tower?

Free to collect in the next 4 days from Wandsworth, South West London.

I wish they made them like this again. Absolute workhorse. 🥲

I tweeted away all my sound recording equipment for free.
Including Akai s1000 Samplers.

The young chap who collected was monosyllabic. He complained that he didn’t have anything to cary away with. 🤷

Didn’t say thanks.

Later than day, saw him in Twitter, flexing to his mates about how he had nabbed a ‘monster set’ up from an old gezzer (53).

I lit up his feed like a Christmas tree 😡

Watched ‘Blackberry’ this evening. Not a great movie, but entertaining, and with some amusing twists along the way. As someone who has some small knowledge of the area of mobile development (and Blackberry devices), it’s an interesting nerd movie too.

I'm genuinely ashamed of myself.

I don't share political views with the conservatives on the SCOTUS, but I was under the shameful misapprehension that they were not unintelligent men, that they were capable of rational thought.

But I was wrong. Because not a single one of them managed to figure out that a President who is immune from prosecution for assassinating a political rival cannot possibly HAVE a congress who might impeach him. Do they imagine congresspersons do not fear death?

blabberlicious,
@blabberlicious@toot.community avatar

@Remittancegirl
I was talking to my cousin about this. He visited me from Argentina last week. He’s a lawyer and got into politics for four years. He said people entering politics usually had principles they wanted to see enacted, and ambition.

But after four years, he was exhausted. The only people left around him where the crazy ones, who only had ambition - and nothing else.

Where we are at.

blabberlicious,
@blabberlicious@toot.community avatar

@Remittancegirl
Yeah. There are some exceptions. I worked for Sadiq Khan’s London Mayoral campaigns While he’s not perfect, I do feel he’s tried to maintain the principles that he started out with. Air quality and fighting back the scourge of cars.
Another MP I did work for, who is also an A&E doctor with two kids, said being an MP is a job for the insane, or the insanely ambitious.

Somewhat naïvely, I used to go along with the idea that British politicians should be paid more along the lines of their American counterparts.

To lessen the incentive to grift.

What was I thinking?

"Today, we've learned that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is concerned that Tesla's massive recall to fix its Autopilot driver assist—which was pushed out to more than 2 million cars last December—has not actually made the system that much safer."

Like so many encounters with healthcare and demetia sufferers. Classic “How long have you been having this trouble”. I mean, really?

Embarrassing at times!

blabberlicious,

@StillIRise1963
That’s a fair minded take. Agreed.

Comes down to inadequate training and poorly laid out medical records. Those things can be a mess. Everyone needs to know patient x has dementia. Clearly.

During a really horrible late night episode in accident and emergency, I popped out for minute, only to find a doctor discussing “end of life do not resuscitate” preferences with my utterly confused mum.

I almost created another accident IN emergency 🚨

Also: she was from Andalucia, so she gets pass from me. 😉

He’d been in politics for 4 years, and gone into it with a lot of energy and principles he wanted to see carried out.

He realised after four years that the only people left around him with the ambitious ones.

With no principles.
Just ambition.
