Garlic powder with BBE of 2016 has turned into a solid brown block that smells strongly of garlic.

Is it safe to eat?

Will it still ward off vampires?

@bornach Spookily I just threw out some garlic powder that expired in Dec 2023! I'd bin it...

One day all Christmas cards will look like this.
(I tried playing it in my old 2001 iBook and it wasn't having it.)
(Triple format, though. Toast CD-ROM mastering skills, hey? Much call for that now?)

A triple format CD ROM.

Also found me a new laptop in the loft. AFAIK this was faulty, so a bit of a bore knowing what to do with it personal-data-wise. If faulty does it have any value or is it just e-Waste?

@davespice Getting it out might be a PITA though?

blogmywiki,
@blogmywiki@mastodon.social avatar

@davespice Yes. And I'm totally not removing the hard drive looking at that!

@davespice thank you! Will try later

Been up in the back loft that's almost inaccessible. Boxes of 1970s/80s Mad Magazines in binders, hundreds of cassettes of Peel Sessions, Festive 50s, pirate radio etc.

Mad Magazines in red binders.
Lots of audio cassettes with hand-written spines.

I'm told the Mad Magazines aren't worth anything but I really don't have the space for them.

Techno lolz... I wonder what the Mad computer program was...

Huge bar code. "Mad hopes this issue jams every computer in the world..."

Don't think I'll be typing this in tbh...

IBM listing and DATA. A lot of DATA statements.

Dreamt I was on a pub crawl. Complained about the crap pubs we were visiting. Next stop was an eye-wateringly expensive micropub where it was my round.

2023 was a mixed bag, but there was one personal, and professional, all-time highlight: delivering a live science demo (worked first time!) to a group of 6th formers in the Royal Institution lecture theatre, standing where Faraday and so many others have stood, sharing knowledge with young people.

I was starting to think I'd never see another microphone in Doctor Who ever again! Skip forward several stories and UNIT are holed up in a school as London is invaded by a plot device later re-used by ITV's Primeval.
