This was a feature that ran under the radar for me but added some interesting new stuff this year. I would love to see this expanded into an API other apps could take advantage of and provide input to for a true picture of your years reading. I use Books constantly and love the app, it has my favorite reading experience overall.

This article from @jsnell at @sixcolors is spot on! If you are getting started on a , especially if you are coming from , don’t install anything! Chances are it’s built in and you don’t need an app at all! The defaults are what I use for the majority of my workflow and they work exceptionally well! And I agree, the Mac needs a clipboard manager!

@jsnell @sixcolors And, not to forget, Apple does have Universal Clipboard which allows you to copy on one device and have it paste on another. You can also use your iPhone camera to scan-to-text and then paste on the .

@jsnell @sixcolors A couple of my favorite best kept secret defaults are:
-Don’t install , just use
-No need to install , just use iWork (, , )
- can do what most conferencing apps do, no need for or , including scheduling meetings and sharing screens
-The built in app is crazy helpful and useful, especially if you can’t connect to the internet for a quick word lookup.

@jsnell True but I rarely see a need an app for that. With MS Office, I can just launch it in Safari and collaborate there. Same for most other apps. The only exception is maybe Excel for accountants or other heavy users where the features are lacking. And often, those features are Windows only still anyways. And for noting the other way, you can share out a Pages doc via the web collaboration easily enough or export to a Word doc and email.
