And lastly, love the surprise + announcement with the two new storage tiers of 6 and 12 TBs. I continue to believe they need to up the lowest one but I’m sure that’s a major driver for people to at least pay for the minimum storage tier as well. But knowing those other two levels are out there is great, even if I haven’t come close to filling my allotment!

New and are super tempting, I love my 14 Plus so much! There were reports it didn’t sell well and I was skeptical I wouldn’t like the larger phone but it’s phenomenal. Would get again and glad they kept the Plus size around! The line continues to impress and stays outside of what I need but someone buys them! And USB-C all around is great but no surprise.

There will be a lot of buzz around this, and it's important to know that this is for employees only. This fits within their strategy to prevent leaks of data, so someone doesn't use a -like service and have internal secrets released to the public. Other companies will be looking to either build their own or make arrangements with the major players to get their own to use without the data leaking/used for training.

More thoughts on this: will use their internal development towards ’s and will funnel into future OS updates and apps. In fact, it probably already has, to some degree. While not a lot of this years included the words “” there were signs of its use in nearly every product category. This will all stay separate from their use of an internal -like product for employee use. @9to5Mac has a good writeup on this as well:

I'm wondering if anyone out there can tell me how new M-Series laptops and desktops comply with 'right to repair ' seeing as it's all pretty much one SoC and the only way to upgrade the RAM is to throw the laptop away and buy a new one. Genuine question.

@rj I think that’s conflating “right to repair” with upgrading or modifying. offers the ability to repair your via a self repair kit. It does not offer upgrades any longer due to changes in the architecture that allow it to achieve high performance and provide massive power reductions. Lastly, they have addressed the need to “throw away” devices by offering trade-in and recycling programs to prevent waste and provide value to older devices.

@ItsThatDeafGuy @rj fair, but it’s just as likely they have the intention of reducing e-waste and meet their environmental goals (which also have fiduciary and compliance impacts as well). My guess is most of the recycled devices fall into the “there is minimal value left” category and wouldn’t even qualify for resale.
