The New York Times is now visibly working -- from the "news" side of the operation -- to undermine Biden's re-election.

More than most of Big Journalism, it has been thumping the right-wing-generated "he's too old" drum even before the 2020 election. The poll published today, from my perspective, is designed to further a narrative that the so-called Paper of Record has done so much to create.

I thought a new top editor might be an improvement. Kahn has been, in fact, a disaster.

@dangillmor Their current approach welcomes catastrophe.

"Slaveowners sexually assaulted and abused their women slaves—and demanded reproduction from them. Rape was used as a tool to both force the women into submission and increase the profit of slaveholders through breeding. The slaves did their best to resist and rebel against such violence, while white women failed to oppose the gruesome behavior perpetrated by their husbands."

@StillIRise1963 yep. Sad little pieces of shit grasping at unearned, undeserved, unjustifiable advantages in life, while telling themselves they're better than others when the preponderance of evidence alone ought to be enough to send them back into the shadows.

We're bootstrapping an upcycling social enterprise that makes everyday goods out of waste and could use loads of help getting the word out.

Here are a few links for our About videos in case you're up for giving us a hand.

I don’t care how popular Threads appears to be getting with media people. Their priorities are not our priorities. The fact is, conversation there is largely non-existent. It’s all performative posting for brand building, either personal or professional. There are no conversations going on there for more than a reply or two, if that. It may be the future, but it’s going to take a lot of work to make it a fecund future, and not a repeat of the nightmare we’ve just gone through.

I know a lot of folks use Substack and I can appreciate why, but I’m unlikely to read things at Substack because TBH, their management is waaaay too welcoming to anti-LGBTQ cranks, racists and even some Nazi-adjacent types. Nilay Patel’s interview of their CEO is an eye-opener.

The Israeli state is starving the people of Gaza and I don’t know how to wrap my head around the horror of this.

I watched Asad do this to Syrians for years and it is a horrific way to die. People with diabetes will die first, in agony, and then children and the elderly.

The time has come for America to view voting as a civic responsibility rather than an option.

Compulsory voting drives participation across all groups, neutralizes suppression techniques, and establishes a culture of active political awareness.

Reform is never easy, but the crisis of civic engagement demands bold action.

No matter how you feel about the war this is NARC behavior and you’re garbage if ur ratting in colleagues for porting their personal thoughts on their personal accounts. As journalists we should value FREE speech and FREE expression above all else.

We all know that bosses never care if staffers post certain political content online. We see examples of this every day.

It’s not about hiding people’s political opinions, it’s about making sure staffers only express the right political opinions.
